The next day, Wynette received a call from the wedding planning company.
It turned out that her custom wedding dress was finally ready.

Since Wynette had originally listed the condominium’s address, the staff had delivered it there early that morning.
Only then did Wynette remember the dress.
She drove back to the condominium.
The moment she opened the door, Wynette frowned.
She had only been gone for one night, yet the once-cleared place now had quite a few new items inside.
And they clearly weren’t Noah’s style.
If it wasn’t Noah, then the only person Wynette could think of was Lorelei.
The thought instantly made her feel irritated.
It looked like she needed to push the real estate agent again to sell the place as soon as possible.
It seriously made her feel sick.
Holding her phone, Wynette sent a message to the agent, restating her requirements.
She didn’t notice Noah walking downstairs.
He looked tired, and there was a hint of awkwardness in his eyes. “Wynette, what brings you here?”
There was a trace of nervousness in his voice.
Out of the corner of his eye, he glanced upstairs before walking toward her.
Wynette looked up at Noah as he approached and replied coolly, “The wedding company called. They said the dress was delivered, so I came to take a look.”
At the mention of the dress, Noah’s expression stiffened.
He cleared his throat and said, “Right, but since you weren’t here, I asked them to take it back.
“I was actually about to go pick you up so we could go to the wedding company together. I didn’t expect you to come here.”

As he spoke, he reached out to grab her hand. “Let’s go there together now.”
There was a barely noticeable urgency in his tone.
Wynette quietly stepped away from Noah. Her brows furrowed slightly. “Really?”
Something about Noah’s explanation didn’t sit right with her.

If he’d actually sent it back, why hadn’t the staff mentioned it when they called her earlier? That didn’t make sense.
Seeing Wynette hesitate, Noah said firmly, “Really. Didn’t the staff tell you? They’re so unreli

He meant to say unreliable, but before he could finish, a cheerful voice came from the staircase.
“Noah.” Lorelei appeared wearing Wynette’s custom wedding dress. Holding the hem of the skirt with both hands, she spun around happily.
Her voice was light and excited. “Do I look good in this?”
As soon as she finished speaking, Lorelei saw Wynette standing behind Noah.
Her smile instantly disappeared, and her expression turned awkward and uneasy.
Noah glanced at Lorelei, who had lowered her head as if she had done something wrong, then quickly turned to Wynette. “I can explain it.”
He had never expected Lorelei to run out like that.
Last night, Noah had received a photo of Lorelei attempting suicide and rushed back in panic.
Her hands had been covered in blood, yet she refused to go to the hospital. She even threatened to kill herself if he forced her.
With no other choice, Noah brought Lorelei back here. He had even felt relieved that Wynette hadn’t come back with him last night.
The wedding company had indeed delivered the dress early this morning, and Noah had signed for it himself.
Originally, he planned to store it in the dressing room and later pick Wynette up so she could try it on.
But Lorelei happened to wake up and saw the dress in Noah’s hands. She said she would never be able to marry Noah and begged to wear it just once so he could see what she looked like in

Noah had refused at first. After all, the dress had been custom-made for Wynette. Not only would the size not fit Lorelei, but Wynette herself hadn’t even tried it on yet.
He had turned down Lorelei’s request, telling her he could take her to a studio to try on other wedding dresses and even take photos there.
Lorelei said she understood. But soon, she locked herself in her room and began hurting herself.
To calm her down, Noah eventually gave in and agreed to let her try on the dress.
But he never expected Wynette to show up right after receiving a call from the wedding planning company.
He tried to come up with an excuse so he could quickly take Wynette away, but Lorelei ran out wearing the wedding dress.
The slap in the face came too fast, and Noah was caught off guard.
Wynette looked at him with open mockery. “You do owe me an explanation.”
“I…” Noah’s scalp tingled as he tried to figure out the best way to explain things to her.
Lorelei hurried to speak. “Wynette, don’t blame Noah. I saw how beautiful the wedding dress was and thought I’d probably never get the chance to wear one in my life, so I begged him to let me try it on.
“It’s my fault. If you want to blame someone, blame me. Your dress is just so beautiful. I liked it so much that I couldn’t help myself.”
Her so-called explanation looked like she was taking all the blame, but every word was filled with provocation.
Noah had his back to Lorelei, so he didn’t see her smug expression.
She even lifted her chin proudly, her eyes full of challenge as she looked at Wynette.
She was hoping Wynette would lose control like before, going crazy and starting a huge fight with Noah. The more their relationship fell apart, the better chance she would have to slip in between them.
But Lorelei was destined to be disappointed.
In the past, Wynette had fought so fiercely because she cared. Now that she no longer did, she had no desire to argue at all.
She calmly looked at the two of them, a faint, mocking smile curling on her lips.
