Noah fixed his eyes on Wynette. “You said those things?”

Even though he asked the question, it was obvious he already believed everything Lorelei had told him.
Wynette was not surprised by that.
With such a perfect opportunity today, Lorelei would not be Lorelei if she did not stir up trouble.
After being tripped up by her so many times before, Wynette had long since gotten used to it.
She met Noah’s gaze calmly. “There are cameras in the conference room. Mr. Shepherd can check the footage.”
The moment Wynette finished speaking, Lorelei’s expression shifted slightly.
Her
eyes swept around the room. When she noticed the surveillance cameras mounted around the conference room, uneasiness crept into her chest.
How could she forget something this important?
Noah absolutely could not check the footage. If he did…
Then the arrogant way she had acted earlier would be completely exposed in front of him.
That was not the image she wanted Noah to see.
Noah frowned and cut Wynette off in a cold voice. “That’s enough, Wynette. I believe Lorelei.”
His words instantly gave Lorelei the confidence she had almost lost.
Wynette only curled her lips faintly. “Suit yourself.”
There was a hint of indifference in her tone.
Noah had expected that after defending Lorelei like that, Wynette would get angry and with him.
In the past, she always throw a fit when Lorelei caused trouble.
But now that Wynette remained calm and composed, Noah felt even more unsettled.
Wynette had no interest in guessing what Noah was thinking.

Looking at him, she said, “Mr. Shepherd, out of respect for the startup funding, I allowed Lorelei, someone who knows nothing about this field, to join the team. I could overlook the

But now she wants to interfere with my work and even rewrite it into something completely different. So I want to ask you, did you invest all that money just so she could mess around and delay the game’s release?
Today, Noah had to pick a side.
Was he going to protect the game?
Or was he going to keep letting Lorelei create chaos here?
Standing nearby, Lorelei spoke up timidly. “I didn’t. I was just sharing my opinion. But all of them kept making snide remarks about how I got into the studio because of you. I lost my temper for a moment and…”
She left the rest unsaid.
Her expression looked pitiful, as if all the blame lay with the other members of the studio.
She said nothing about her own arrogant attitude.
Lorelei had no intention of letting Wynette get what she wanted.
She had deliberately picked faults and delayed the schedule. She even hoped it would make the conflict between Noah and Wynette worse.
Noah gave Lorelei a reassuring look, then turned to Wynette. “You said it yourself. I invested a lot of money in this project. If Lorelei thinks something about the design doesn’t make sense and suggests changes, why can’t your team cooperate?”
What if Lorelei’s ideas actually make the game better? Even if they don’t work out, it’s just adjusting some numbers in the system. Is there really a need to make such a big issue out of it?
From Noah’s tone, it was clear he had once again chosen to defend Lorelei.
Wynette found it almost laughable.
Leaving aside the fact that Lorelei had no understanding of the game’s design or storyline, her arrogant attitude alone had already angered everyone.
How much did Noah care about Lorelei that he would say something so unreasonable in front of the very people who had fought alongside him?
He knew perfectly well what this studio meant to all of them.
They had stayed up through countless nights together, working overtime and building the project side by side. Yet all of that meant nothing when it came to Lorelei.

The colleagues who had still been trying to convince themselves to understand Noah finally stopped making excuses for him.
At this point, everyone understood what was happening, and the balance in their hearts slowly shifted.
Wynette’s gaze turned colder. “If you insist on letting Lorelei do whatever she wants, fine. I won’t stop you. That’s your freedom. I have no control over that. But…”
Her voice paused slightly as she swept a cold look across Noah and Lorelei. “This game is the hard work of everyone here. I will not allow anyone to ruin it in someone else’s name.”
“Noah, even if the game never launches, I will never allow the child I created with so much effort to be treated like that.”
Noah looked at her in confusion. “Wynette, what do you mean by that?”
He had a bad feeling about what she was about to say next.
Wynette spoke firmly. “It means I would rather let this game sit there collecting dust than allow people with their own agenda to ruin it. Noah, withdraw your investment. I’m not releasing the game.”
She had compromised again and again, but all Noah gave her in return was more pressure.
Wasn’t he simply relying on the fact that she desperately wanted the game to launch? That was why he kept pushing her buttons.
He threatened her with withdrawing his investment, and she tolerated it.
He allowed Lorelei to join the team out of nowhere, and she tolerated that, too.
But now Noah ignored the people who had fought alongside him and the hard work everyone had poured into the project, all while letting Lorelei cause trouble. Wynette was done tolerating his shit.
She never should have held onto even the slightest hope for this man.
Wynette once thought that since she had already decided to leave Noah, she should at least end their relationship with some dignity.
She had been too naïve.
Noah was simply not worth all the compromises she had made.
After hearing Wynette’s words, Noah’s face darkened. Does she even understand what she’s saying?
For this game, Wynette had personally done almost everything. She wrote the code herself, found the illustrators herself, and poured her entire heart into creating it.
