A voice echoed from the entrance of the covered bridge.
Deafening!
Sienna Sterling's body went completely rigid.
It was a voice she knew all too well.
She slowly turned her head.
A figure stood at the entrance of the bridge.
He wore a dark gray trench coat, black slacks, and leather dress shoes.
An outfit entirely out of place in Highland Gardens.
Finn Fletcher!
He stood there, his eyes bloodshot, radiating a murderous aura.
Then, like a beast about to snap its chains, he moved.
He lunged forward.
The photographer paused, his finger slipping from the shutter.
The director opened his mouth in shock.
The crew exchanged bewildered glances.
Only Sienna didn't move.
She stood rooted to the spot, Landon White's thumb still resting against her cheek.
Finn moved with terrifying speed.
Before Sienna could even react, he was right in front of her.
The wind caught by his trench coat whipped against her face.
His eyes were crimson, burning like hot coals.
Sienna had never seen Finn look like this.
He had always been calm, restrained—the kind of man who buried his emotions deep beneath the ice.
She never imagined that four years after their breakup, she would see him lose control like this.
"Sienna, you're coming with me."
His voice was hoarse, rough like sandpaper.
Sienna looked down to see his hand clamped in a death grip around her wrist.
His strength was terrifying, as if he meant to crush her bones.
Sienna winced in pain and instinctively shrank back.
"Finn Fletcher! Let go!"
He refused.
His fingers gripped her wrist like an iron vise, his knuckles turning white as his veins bulged.
"I said, come with me first. We need to talk!"
His voice rose a full octave.
The shout echoed down the entire bridge.
"Sir, please let her go."
Landon's voice sounded from beside them as he reached out and gave Finn a shove.
Only then did Finn tear his gaze away from Sienna.
He looked at Landon.
She thought he had finally calmed down.
But in the exact moment Finn let her go...
He swung his fist.
There was no warning.
Just a straight, brutal punch.
It connected heavily with Landon's face.
*Thud—*
The sickening sound of impact was muffled.
It was heavy enough to make the onlookers' chests tighten.
Landon was sent flying to the side, stumbling two steps before crashing into the railing.
A few drops of blood splattered across his pale moonlight-colored robe.
Bright crimson poured from his nose, running over his lips and dripping down his collar.
Someone in the crowd let out a piercing scream.
"Finn Fletcher!" Sienna screamed, her voice cracking. "Are you out of your mind?!"
Finn glanced down at the fist he had just used to strike Landon.
There was a split across his knuckles, tiny beads of blood welling up.
He slowly clenched his hand tight, then let it relax.
Then, he looked up and stared straight at Landon.
"That punch," his voice remained eerily calm, "is to tell you to stay away from her. Keep your dirty thoughts to yourself!"
