I Stopped Loving Him When He Let Me Bleed Out novel Chapter 52

Landon wiped his bloody nose with the back of his hand.

He stared at the crimson smeared across his skin, clearly stunned.

"Psycho." Landon's voice was a bit muffled as blood seeped into his mouth, but he stood his ground. "You just assaulted me. I can call the cops, just you wait!"

Finn looked at him without a trace of panic.

"Be my guest."

Landon glared at Finn.

Finn stared right back.

Their gazes clashed, the tension in the air practically sparking into flames.

Landon didn't pull out his phone.

He sat awkwardly on the ground, his nose still bleeding, but he refused to retreat a single inch.

The moment Sienna heard the word 'cops,' panic seized her.

She immediately rushed to Landon's side, supporting him and murmuring softly.

"Landon, don't worry, it's just a surface wound. I'll help you clean it up, just hold off on calling the police for now..."

As soon as the words left her mouth, Sienna froze.

What was she saying?

Was she protecting him?

This was the man who had left her completely shattered all those years ago. Why on earth did she want to protect him?

She absolutely hated herself for speaking up.

Sitting on the ground while Sienna tended to his wound, Landon spoke in a quiet, steady voice.

"Sienna, you still care about him."

Being called out so directly made her already awkward position feel utterly humiliating.

After all, Landon was the one who had just taken a punch.

Her reaction made her look incredibly heartless.

"No... I..."

She wanted to explain, but no words came out.

When Finn heard Landon's remark, his pupils sharply contracted.

Could it really be true...

But before he could say a word.

Landon shot a glance his way, a hint of provocation flickering in his eyes.

"I know who you are. You're just her ex-boyfriend, right? Just an ex. Who do you think you are?"

Seeing Sienna fuss over Landon had already driven Finn to the edge of madness.

Now, hearing the words 'you still care about him.'

His breathing hitched, his chest heaving violently.

He clenched his fists once more.

Like an enraged beast.

"You're worried? You're actually worried about me, aren't you?"

Sienna was so furious she thought she might explode. She yelled.

"In your dreams! I'd have to be out of my mind to worry about you! I hate you. I wish you were dead!"

Finn's expression crumpled, as if he had just taken a knife to the gut.

"Don't hate me. Just listen to me..."

"I'm not listening! Get the hell out!" Sienna pointed at him, her eyes devoid of any warmth.

"You were the one who cheated first. You betrayed me, and now you show up playing the deeply devoted lover. Who are you putting on this act for? You make me sick!"

Finn grabbed her arm.

"No, that's not..."

Sienna demanded he let go.

He didn't.

He was terrified that if he let go this time, he would never be able to touch her again.

She yanked her hand back.

His grip tightened, sending a sharp spike of pain through her wrist.

"Ow!" she cried out.

Before the sound even faded, she brought her other hand up.

She slapped Finn hard across the face.
