I Stopped Loving Him When He Let Me Bleed Out novel Chapter 55

Realizing how terrible that sounded, Landon scrambled to fix it.

"No, what I mean is..."

Sienna's expression turned icy cold.

"Save it. I'll fulfill the contract, but after this is over, don't ever contact me again."

Landon's face froze in panic. He reached out to grab her.

"No, no, Sienna, that's not what I meant. Please don't misunderstand."

"Let go of me!"

Startled by the sheer force of her anger, Landon immediately dropped his hand.

He regretted his words instantly, but the damage was done.

Sienna was not the type to tolerate nonsense.

It didn't matter who it was—the moment someone made her uncomfortable, she would ruthlessly cut them out of her life!

Sienna and Landon returned to the fitting room.

Director Cross was smoking a cigarette. When he saw them walk in, he blew out a ring of smoke and sneered.

"See, I told you. Don't throw tantrums until you're famous. Once you're a star, you can act however you want."

Afraid that Sienna would explode, Landon hastily tried to explain.

"She's a doctor. She has a great career. She's not trying to be a celebrity."

The director looked entirely unimpressed.

"What job pays better than being a star? It's easy money, rolling in by the millions. Whatever, if she wants to act high and mighty, let her."

Sienna looked right at him, mimicking his dismissive sneer.

Director Cross's face darkened.

"What's so funny?"

"Rolling in by the millions? You say it as if it's the easiest thing in the world," Sienna said smoothly. "How much have you made, Director?"

He opened his mouth, stammering slightly.

"Why would I tell you?"

Sienna's smile widened.

"I assume it isn't much. After all, if you were a real hotshot director, you'd be off shooting Oscar-winning films right now. Only the untalented ones get stuck taking thankless gigs at tourist traps."

The director's face turned the color of bruised plum, his hand trembling so hard he almost dropped his cigarette.

The eye visible beneath his mask was deep and quiet.

In the reflection of the studio lights, Sienna could see her own shadow in his gaze.

She suddenly had the urge to laugh.

Seeing herself in his eyes... four years later, she was still exactly the same.

The second he showed up, she reverted straight back to the pathetic version of Sienna that he had carelessly thrown away.

It was truly pathetic.

But today, she was going to ruthlessly cut away that pathetic version of herself.

Director Cross stood up and pointed abruptly at Sienna and Finn.

"This next scene... it's a romance scene for the two of you!"

Sienna stared at him in disbelief.

Finn frowned.

"What are you talking about?"

The director crossed his arms, a smug smile creeping onto his face.
