I’d accepted Grayson’s challenge and as I approached the front door of his residence, it kept lingering in my mind as one thing was for sure. The look in his eyes made it seem like he was ready to play dirty if that was what it would take to even get Harper to want him again and I was going to be right there, making sure he wouldn’t succeed.
When I walked into the foyer, I found Margot walking down the stairs in a hurry. She barely glanced at me and headed towards the living room.
“You actually came.” Her tone was bitter and I was certain her face wasn’t any different even though I couldn’t see it.
As I followed behind her, I said, “Of course I did. I definitely didn’t expect to see you here.”
When she got to the living room and moved out of the way, I finally saw Tiffany, who didn’t even move an inch as she twisted her face while shaking her head at me.
Her mother sat right next to her and neither of them asked me to take a seat, not that I gave a fuck. So when I was close enough, I just stood there with my hands in my pockets.
“Let’s make this quick, because I have somewhere else I need to be right now,” I said while looking down at my watch.
Margot sneered at me. “The nerve of you to show open disrespect.”
I paid a little attention to her, my eyes fixed on Tiffany, who looked like she had so much to say but didn’t know where to start.
“Well? Are you going to talk or will you just keep staring at me?” I asked her.
“How could dad transfer everything to you? Am I not his daughter?”
I sighed. “You are, but you’re definitely not me and don’t forget that you’re also Margot’s daughter.”
“So what if she’s my daughter?” Margot snapped as she got up from her seat, approaching me with heavy breathing. “Is it so wrong for her to be my daughter?”
I looked down at her like I wasn’t intimidated. “In this case, it’s definitely wrong. Things would’ve turned out differently had she been someone else’s daughter. You’re the reason this happened.”
That pissed her off so badly that she swung her hand so the palm of her hand could land on my cheek, but I grabbed her wrist mid air, squeezing it a little while staring straight into her eyes.
“I wouldn’t do that if I were you.” My voice was low, but threatening.
Tiffany rose from her seat to come to her mother’s aid, but when she was close enough to help set her free, she just stood there, like she knew not to physically get involved.

…
“Let her go,” she demanded.
“Oh, shut up, Tiffany!” Margot snapped at her. “I didn’t say I needed your help!”

She grunted as her eyes darted between my hand wrapped around her wrist and the expression on my face.
“Everyone’s so disrespectful today,” she said, with a shaky voice. “First, it was Grayson and now I have to deal with you.”
My jaw dropped like I was actually surprised. “You’re right about Grayson, but definitely not me and you know it.”
I could’ve kept squeezing her wrist a bit longer, but I realized that the more time I wasted with both of them there, the more time it would take for me to get to my date. With that in mind, I gently pushed her artist to the side.
My hold on her wrist left its mark and as she massaged it, Tiffany got closer, like she wanted to see it as well.
But when she reached for her mother’s wrist, she pulled back and yelled, “Get away!”
“I’m just trying to help,” Tiffany said like she was hurt, not that it made any difference to me.
Margot scoffed while hunched over. “Like that’s actually going to change anything!”
She was so dismissive of Tiffany that she immediately turned to face me, straightening up like that would make her sound more serious with whatever she was about to say to me.
“There’s no way I’m going to allow you to be the sole owner of all that, so here’s what you’re going to do. You’re going to transfer 50% of that to Tiffany.”
I raised my eyebrows with a chuckle, just because I already saw that coming.
Crossing my arms, I said, “Why should I do that?”
“Because she’s your sister!”
I firmly shook my head. “I know what you’re trying to do here. It’s the only way it can make its way to you.”
“So what?” she admitted quickly. “I deserve part of that and you know it! You don’t need any more than you already have!”
“Right. And you’re the one who needs more. Why?”
She poked out her hip. “It’s not enough.”
“What’s wrong? Don’t want to share what you already have with your boyfriend?” I said in a mocking tone.
Her eyes narrowed as she pointed a finger at me. “You better watch your tone before 1-”
“Before you what? Do nothing to me? I’m so scared.” My attention then shifted to Tiffany.” I thought I was coming here to talk to you, not Margot. She’s basically done all the talking for you but anyway, it’s no big deal.
