Jared chance novel Chapter 6581

The three hundred disciples of Ashford Hollow didn't chase the ones who ran.

They didn't slaughter the ones who dropped to their knees, either.

They only stood in the Eightfold Trigram Array in utter silence, waiting for Jared's command.

Jared put away the Dragonslayer Sword, then turned to the Hall of Radiance cultivators kneeling on the ground.

His violet eyes passed over their terrified faces without the slightest ripple.

"From this day on, the Hall of Radiance no longer exists."

His voice stayed calm, but in the dead silence of the Hall of Radiance, every word rang with brutal clarity.

"If you're willing to surrender, hand over your arcane implements and destroy your own cultivation. Do that, and you can leave here alive. If you're not willing to surrender..."

He didn't finish the sentence.

He didn't need to.

Anyone who refused to surrender would die.

The Hall of Radiance cultivators looked at one another.

Then, one by one, they surrendered the arcane implements in their hands, gathered their spiritual power, and shattered their own meridians.

Golden saintlight bled out of their bodies as their cultivation levels crashed.

Golden Immortal Realm to True Immortal Realm. True Immortal Realm to Heavenly Immortal Realm. Heavenly Immortal Realm to the level of a mortal.

They had once been celestial cultivators who looked down on everyone else.

Now they were nothing.

But they were still alive.

As for the ones who refused to surrender, Jared gave them no chance at all.

The disciples of Ashford Hollow moved with clean, ruthless efficiency.

One strike, one death. In less than half an hour, every Hall of Radiance cultivator who kept resisting had been cut down.

Golden blood streamed before the Hall of Radiance gatehouse, gathering into dark-golden rivulets.

The air reeked of blood—thick, sharp, nauseating.

Jared stood atop the ruins of the mountain gate and looked out over it all.

Nothing stirred in his violet eyes.

He wasn't a man who loved killing.

But some people deserved to die.

The agents of the Hall of Radiance had hurt Josephine.

That alone was enough to condemn them.

It didn't matter whether they'd done it on purpose or by accident.

It didn't matter whether they were following orders or acting on their own.

If they hurt the person they never should have touched, they paid the price.

That was Jared's rule.

From the mundane world to the Ethereal Realm, from the celestial realm to the heavens and the myriad worlds, that rule had never changed.

Master Alaric Vale walked to Jared's side.

His aged eyes rested on him, and something complicated flickered through them.

"Mr. Chance, the Hall of Radiance has fallen.

Where do we go next?"

Jared was silent for a moment before he said, "Gather every resource in the Hall of Radiance.

We're returning to Ashford Hollow."

Master Alaric Vale nodded, then turned and gave a few quiet orders to the disciples behind him.

The disciples of Ashford Hollow began clearing the battlefield, collecting the spoils, and treating the wounded.

Jared remained standing on the ruins, his gaze fixed to the northeast.

That was the direction Josephine had gone.

She had no idea what had happened here.

She didn't know any of what he had done for her.

Maybe she would never know.

Maybe even if she found out, she still wouldn’t care.

She had lost her memory.

She didn’t remember Jared at all.

To her, he was only someone she knew.

A boy she’d once met in the Fourteenth Firmament. Someone who had helped her in the Northern Abyss Frost Chasm.

That was all.

But Jared didn’t care.

What he had done for her was never something she needed to know.

He didn’t need her gratitude. He didn’t even need her to care.

He only wanted her to know one thing...

that in this world, there was still someone who cared about her.

Someone who still remembered her. Someone still willing to risk his life for her.

Even if she had forgotten everything.

Even if she would never remember him.

“Let’s go.”

If Jared came for them with the three hundred disciples of Ashford Hollow, could he stop him?

Even the Hall of Radiance's grand warding array, the Saintlight Firmament, hadn't been able to hold Jared back.

Would the Ember God Palace's array fare any better?

Lord Saintlight had died by Jared's sword.

Could he really beat Jared in a fight?

Aurelius's brow drew tight.

He didn't know the answer.

But he knew this much—he had to find a way to deal with Jared, and fast.

Otherwise, the next force to fall would be the Ember God Palace.

the Abyssal Exchange

Cedric stood before the tall window on the ninth layer of the Void Pavilion, a cup of Wayfarer's tea in hand, watching the cloud-sea churn beyond the glass.

Behind him, his trusted attendant was delivering the news of the Hall of Radiance's destruction.

"The Hall of Radiance was wiped out? In a single day?" Cedric's voice held naked disbelief. "Jared did it alone?"

"Not entirely."

His trusted attendant lowered his head. "The three hundred disciples of Ashford Hollow took part as well. Master Alaric Vale personally led them and deployed the Eightfold Trigram Array. But the one who killed Lord Saintlight... that really was Jared himself."

Cedric went silent for a long time.

Then he set down his tea and walked to the window, staring out at the rolling cloud-sea while a sharp, calculating light flickered in his eyes.

"The Aureate Way... Jared... Ashford Hollow..." He let the words roll off his tongue one by one, and a smile curved at his mouth, unreadable and deep. "Interesting. Very interesting."

He turned to look at his trusted attendant. "Any word from Claire's side?"

"Vice-master Claire has already returned and is waiting for you to summon her."

"Send her in." Cedric picked up his tea again and took a slow sip. "I want to have a proper talk with her."

"Yes, sir."

The trusted attendant accepted the order and withdrew.

Cedric remained alone at the window, lightly tapping a finger against the teacup until it answered with clear, delicate chimes.

With the Hall of Radiance destroyed, the balance of power in the Eighteenth Firmament was about to change violently.

The days of the Ember God Palace standing alone at the top were about to end.

Under Jared's lead, Ashford Hollow was poised to become the Eighteenth Firmament's new overlord.

And the Abyssal Exchange had to find its place in the new order.

"Jared... Jared..." Cedric murmured the name under his breath, the smile at his lips deepening by the second. "You're getting harder and harder to read."
