Jealousy Alpha’s Regret
Chapter 133
I continued walking, planning to pass him without acknowledgment,
but he spotted me and his smirk widened.
“Well, if it isn’t Iris Stone,” he called out, loud enough for nearby
students to turn and look. “Heard you left Crescent Design. Couldn’t
hack it, huh?”
I kept walking, my jaw clenched tight.
“What happened?” he pressed, stepping into my path. “The great
Aurora got tired of playing intern? Or did Grey finally see through
your act?”
I stopped, meeting his gaze directly. My wolf growled inside me,
urging me to put this inferior male in his place.
“I suggest you move, Miles,” I said quietly. “I have nothing to say to
you.”
He leaned closer, dropping his voice to a whisper that only another
werewolf could hear. “Which Alpha are you fucking now? You acted so
high and mighty back then, but you’re just a bitch in heat looking for
the next powerful male to climb on, aren’t you?”

My face remained expressionless, but inside I was seething. “You
really think being kicked out of Polaris is the end of your
punishment? How naive.”
His face paled slightly, the smirk faltering. “What are you talking
about?”
“Ethan Lowell sends his regards,” I said softly, watching the
realization dawn in his eyes.
Before he could respond, a young woman called out from behind him.
“Miles? Who’s that?”
I glanced over his shoulder at the human girl approaching us, her
expression wary as she looked between Miles and me. She slipped her
arm through his possessively, eyeing me with suspicion.
Poor girl. I studied her briefly, noting her expensive but tasteless
clothing and the hopeful gleam in her eyes. “I hope she’s just in it for
your money,” I thought grimly. “If you’ve marked her, she’s in for a life
of misery.”
I turned away, continuing toward the parking lot. “Not worth another
second of my time,” I muttered under my breath. “Pathetic excuse for
a werewolf.”

Inside my car, I slammed the door harder than necessary, my hands
shaking with suppressed anger. “Disgusting,” I spat, starting the
engine. “Absolutely disgusting!”
The encounter with Miles had left me feeling unclean somehow. I
took several deep breaths, forcing myself to calm down. But another
thought occurred to me: what was Miles doing at my university?
I pulled out my phone and dialed. “Daniel? It’s Iris Stone. I need
information on Miles Peterson–where he’s working now, what he’s
involved in. He was just at my university.”
Daniel’s voice was professional and prompt. “I’ll look into it
immediately, Ms. Stone.”
By the time I reached my apartment in Blue Harbor, I’d regained my
composure. I moved through my living space, greeting my plants with
gentle touches and whispered words as I watered them. The familiar
routine helped settle my wolf, who was still agitated from the earlier
confrontation.
My phone chimed with an incoming email. “That was fast,” I
murmured, opening it to find Daniel’s report on Miles.

I scanned the information, my eyes narrowing. “Eastern Design
Group? Not a bad company at all.” I leaned back against the kitchen counter, frowning. “These parasitic werewolves always seem to land
on their feet in the human world.”
I continued reading, scrolling through Miles’s recent activities, when
a particular entry caught my eye: “Participant, New Moon Design
Spring Competition.”
