Jealousy Alpha’s Regret
Chapter 202
Iris’s POV
I was finishing my breakfast when Rachel let herself into my apartment, carrying a paper bag that smelled of fresh pastries.
“You said you’d text me when you woke up,” she scolded, setting the bag on my kitchen counter.
‘I just got up, I lied, already on my second cup of coffee. The truth was, I’d been awake since five, reviewing reports from Stone Industries.
Rachel surveyed my apartment with a critical eye. “You know, you saying you’re going to live here alone as a pregnant woman just doesn’t sit right with me.”
I smiled behind my coffee mug. Since finding out about my pregnancy, Rachel had appointed herself my unofficial caretaker. For a human, her knowledge about werewolf pregnancies was surprisingly extensive.
“I’m perfectly fine on my own,” I assured her.
“Says the woman who forgot to eat dinner twice this week because she was too busy with spreadsheets,” she countered, pushing a chocolate croissant toward me. “Pregnant werewolves need more calories than humans, you know.”
“Yes, Dr. Rachel,” I teased, but took the pastry anyway.
“I’m serious, Iris,” she said, her tone softening. “You’re running a company, dealing with your newfound family, and growing a tiny werewolf inside you. That’s a lot for anyone to handle alone.”
I chewed thoughtfully. “I’m managing. Besides, I have you barging in at all hours.”
Rachel rolled her eyes but smiled. “Well, someone has to look after you.” She checked her watch. “We should get going soon if we want to make your appointment.”
As we headed down to the underground parking garage, Rachel kept up a steady stream of conversation about her latest dating disaster, which I was grateful for It kept my mind off the anxiety I felt about today’s doctor appointment.
In the car, Rachel suddenly turned serious. “Have you told Jack Lowell and his family about the babies yet?”
The question caught me off guard. Since discovering I was part of the Lowell bloodline, I hadn’t considered how this pregnancy might affect with my newfound family.
my
relationship
“Not yet,” I finally answered. “With everything happening so quickly–taking over Stone Industries, discovering my real heritage–I haven’t found the right
moment.
Rachel kept her eyes on the road. “Don’t you think they have a right to know? These babies are part of their bloodline too.“PER
I sighed, resting a hand on my still–flat stomach. “I will tell them, just… not yet. I need to process everything myself first.”
“Fair enough,” Rachel conceded. “But don’t wait too long. These things have a way of coming out at the worst possible moment.
At the hospital, Dr. Bell greeted us warmly. She was one of the few doctors specializing in werewolf healthcare, recommended by Jack Lowell himself.
“Iris,” she said, looking up from my chart with slight surprise, “you’re what, about three or four months along now? Your abdomen is still barely showing.

Werewolves typically show much earlier.”
I shifted uncomfortably on the examination table, feeling a flutter of worry that I’d been trying to ignore for weeks. The doctor had just voiced the exact concern I’d been having myself. Why wasn’t I showing more? Was something wrong with the babies?
“I think it’s just the way I dress,” 1 offered with a forced smile, though even to my own ears the explanation sounded weak. “If you look closely, you can
actually see a small bump.”
