I stood by the window on the second floor of the Lowell estate, watching guests arrive for my birthday celebration. The evening sky had darkened to a deep blue, and the garden lights illuminated the path leading to the entrance. A satisfied smile tugged at my lips as I observed the carefully selected attendees making their way inside.

“All the faces I hate are missing from this crowd,” I whispered to myself feeling a strange mix of pride and vindication. After years of enduring slights and humiliation, I finally had the power to decide who could and couldn’t enter my world.

Jack had been surprisingly understanding about my guest list. When I handed him the final version with certain names conspicuously absent, he’d merely raised an eyebrow.

“You’re sure about this?” he’d asked, his finger hovering over William Grey’s name – the only Grey family member I’d invited.

“Absolutely,” I’d replied without hesitation. “William has always been kind to me. The others…. well, they’ve made their feelings clear enough.”

Jack had nodded, respecting my decision without pushing for explanations. I appreciated that about him – this grandfather I never knew I had until recently.

He understood boundaries in a way my former in-laws never did.

I sensed Dina’s presence before I saw her, the quiet efficiency of her movements giving her away. She stood a respectful distance behind me, her posture

alert but relaxed.

“Everything alright, Ms. Stone?” she asked, her voice professional.

I turned to face her, noting the question in her eyes that went beyond her words /She was probably wondering about my relationship with Sebastien, especially after I’d deliberately excluded him from tonight’s event.

“Everything’s perfect,” I assured her with a smile. ‘You can go check on the security arrangements downstairs. I’ll be here a little longer.

Dina nodded and left silently. Once alone, I pulled out my phone to check the time – thirty minutes until I was expected to make my appearance. Out of habit, I opened the werewolf community chat group. Immediately, my screen filled with messages, and I couldn’t help but smirk.

Apparently, those who hadn’t received invitations were making their displeasure known:

[WolfGirl78]: Has anyone else noticed everyone’s posting from the Lowell estate. tonight? My invitation must have gotten lost in the mail…

[MoonRunner22]: Just saw Jennifer’s Instagram story from Iris Stone’s birthday party. Weird, I thought we were cool after that fundraiser fast month.

I scrolled further down, my amusement growing with each post. Then one message caught my eye:

[PurebloodPride]: How come everyone’s at the Lowell estate for tris’s party tonight? Wheres my invitation?

The response came quickly:

Chapter 258

Howling Night Some people are truly clueless. You trash-talked her for months when she was with the Greys, and now you’re surprised she doesn’t want you at her birthday?

I chuckled softly. “At least I don’t hate to explain myself, I murmured, putting my phone away.

A message from Rachel lit up my screen. I quickly dialed her number.

“Still stuck at security?” I asked when she answered.

“God, yes!” Rachel’s exasperated something?”

I laughed. “Need me to
