Chapter 209
Chapter 209
BRANDON’S POV
I had pushed my team through the night, cutting the meetings short and flying back early just to surprise her. I wanted to walk into Aria’s house, pull her into my arms, and see the look of pure joy on her face.
Instead, I walked into a nightmare.
The heavy front doors swung open as I stepped inside, the absolute silence of the house instantly feeling wrong. And then I heard the shouting from the dining room.
I moved fast, my jaw clenched, but nothing could have prepared me for the sight that greeted me when I
rounded the corner. Julian was there. In Aria’s house.
His hand was gripped tightly around the back of her head, pinning her in place, and his mouth was slammed against hers. Aria was trapped under him, her hands pressed against his chest.
For a split second, she stopped fighting, her body going completely still. A dark, lethal rage exploded in my chest, hotter and more violent than anything I had ever felt in my life. The blood roared in my ears, completely blinding me.
“What the fuck is going on here?” My voice ripped through the dining room like a gunshot. Julian flinched, tearing his mouth away from hers as he spun around to face me.
Aria stumbled backward, her chest heaving as she let out a sharp gasp, her eyes wide with absolute horror when she saw me standing in the doorway.
Julian tried to step into a defensive posture, his bloodshot eyes narrowing, but he was trembling. He looked completely unhinged, his hair messy, wearing a guest robe from Aria’s house.
The realization that he had slept under her roof while I was gone made me want to tear him limb from limb. “Brandon,” Aria choked out, her face turning pale as she reached a hand out toward me. “Brandon, it’s not what it looks like ” I didn’t hear a single word she said. My eyes were locked entirely on Julian.
Without a word, I closed the distance between us in three long strides. Before he could even lift his arms to protect himself, I threw a brutal, heavy right hook straight into his jaw.
The force of the punch echoed loudly in the room. Julian’s head snapped sideways, and he went flying over the dining table, crashing hard against the wood before rolling onto the marble floor.
Plates and silverware shattered around him, scattered in every direction. “Brandon, stop!” Aria screamed, her voice shaking as she rushed forward, trying to grab my arm.
I shoved her back gently but firmly, never taking my eyes off the pathetic piece of trash trying to scramble up from the floor. Julian was groaning, clutching his bleeding jaw as he looked up at me with pure hatred.
“You think you can just walk in here and kiss her?” I growled, my voice dropping into a low, terrifying whisper as I stepped over the broken porcelain toward him. “You think you can touch my woman?”
Julian spit blood onto the floor, a dark, manic laugh escaping his lips as he used the edge of a chair to pull himself to his feet. “Your woman?” he sneered, his voice cracking. “She was mine first, Brandon. She will always be mine. Look around you. She let me stay the night. She still cares about me.”
The words hit like fuel to a fire. I grabbed him by the front of his robe, lifting him off his feet, and slammed him violently against the brick wall of the dining room.
“Brandon, please! Stop!” Aria begged, her voice cracking as she rushed toward me. When I finally ripped my eyes away from Julian and looked at her, she was crying.
The sight of her tears usually broke my heart, but right now, it just felt like a physical blow to my chest. “It’s not what you think, Brandon,” she said, her voice shaking violently. She turned her head, glaring at the man pinned against the wall. “Julian, leave. Get the hell out right now.”
Julian spit more blood onto the floor, wip
of his sleeve. “I’m not leaving,” he said

stubbornly, staring right back at her. “I’m not leaving my family.”
My jaw clenched so hard it ached. I let go of his robe, stepped back, and pulled out my phone. I dialed a number, my voice deadpan and dangerous. “Get in here. Now.”
Within seconds, two of my bodyguards burst through the dining room doors. I pointed a single, steady finger at Julian. “Throw him out.”
Just as the men grabbed Julian by his arms, a small gasp echoed from the doorway. Amelia ran into the dining room, her eyes wide and filled with tears as she saw the chaos.
She froze, looking at the broken plates, the blood on the floor, and then her eyes landed on me. “Uncle Brandon?” she whispered, her voice trembling.
The men didn’t stop. They dragged Julian out of the house, ignoring how much he struggled, his loud cussing echoing down the hallway until the heavy front doors slammed shut behind them.
I didn’t say a word. I couldn’t. My chest felt completely empty, a hollow space where my heart used to be. This wasn’t what I wanted. This wasn’t how this morning was supposed to go.
I had stayed up all night, rushing back to the city just to see them, and now everything was ruined.
Amelia stood there in pure shock, her little hands gripping the edge of her school uniform.
I slowly turned my head to look at Aria. The betrayal tasted like ash in my mouth. “How could you?” I asked, my voice barely a whisper, but it cut through the quiet room louder than any shout.
“Brandon, please, just let me explain,” she tried to say, stepping closer to me, her hands reaching out. “He was out in the storm, Amelia asked me to-”
“I don’t want to hear it, Aria,” I cut her off smoothly, my voice completely cold. I couldn’t stand to be in this room for another second. I turned around, grabbed the travel bag I had dropped by the door when I first arrived, and began to walk away.
“Uncle Brandon!” Amelia’s small, broken voice called out after me. “I’m sorry! Please don’t go!”
Hearing her cry out for me nearly broke my resolve, but I couldn’t even turn around to look at my little princess. I couldn’t let her see the sheer rage and pain on my face. Reaching into my coat pocket, my fingers brushed against the smooth cardboard of the gift I had spent an hour looking for before my flight.
I slowly dropped the large box of chocolates onto the entryway table, and without looking back, I walked out the front door.
Outside, the air was cool and crisp after the storm. Julian was standing by the driveway, his robe damp as he screamed at my men. “You have no right! This isn’t his house! You can’t touch me!”
I marched down the steps, my heavy boots clicking against the wet pavement. The moment Julian saw me, he opened his mouth to say something else, but I stepped right into his space, my shadow towering over him.
“The next time I see you anywhere near Aria,” I told him, my voice dropping into a lethal, quiet promise, “I will kill you.”
Julian scoffed, wiping the fresh blood from his jaw, though his eyes flared with a brief flicker of fear. “No, you won’t,” he argued back, trying to stand tall. “You love Amelia too much to kill her father.”
“Leave, Julian,” I commanded, my patience completely gone.
Julian just scoffed again, shaking his head as he backed away toward his vehicle. “I’ll go for now,” he said, ripping the car door open. “But you have another thing coming if you think you’re going to keep me away from my family.”
He stepped inside, slammed the door, and the tires screeched as he drove off down the estate path. I stood there for a moment, my breathing heavy, before I turned to move toward my own car.
“Brandon.”
