Justice For Juniper (Tatienne Richard) novel Chapter 174

Fallout Part II

“Juniper,” Kyst called for her again.

“Seriously, how is he still able to talk with all the blood seeping out of him and I’m sure she shot him in the lung.” Juniper grumbled from where she refused to look up. She felt the familiar touch of her mother hugging her from behind and her mother’s chin rested on her shoulder. “Mama, this went too far.”

“I don’t know. He’s still breathing.”

“Mama.”

“Did you hear what the woman said, Juniper? She lost her home and is living in her car because she trusted the lies he was spouting. He made it seem like he was sending these videos only to her. He’s disgusting. I hope when he goes to jail, he gets put into a cell with a man who has a dick as thick as a coke bottle and is as gay as I am straight. He’s pretty. I hope he gets taken advantage of.”

She couldn’t help it. Juniper giggled at her mother’s words, “Mama.”

“Seriously. I hope his ass gets taken every day from now until his final day on this earth by a chode wielding brute.pothes bastard whispers in Kvst’s ear he loves him while he nails him from behind. He reamed these women, Juni. He acted like he was looking for love online and taking their money and banking it. He hurt them so bad. He hurt you. He deserves everything he got coming. I’m glad she shot him.”

“I’m not, Mama. I’m not glad he got shot because now he is going to have a martyr complex.”

“He keeps calling for you,” Maeve complained. “How does he have air in his lungs?”

“He’s pretty pale now,” Beni commented with a sigh. “He’ll be passed out in a minute or two.” He rubbed Juniper’s shoulder, “the ambulance attendants are here. They are bringing a gurney in.”

“This is your fault!” Carl suddenly erupted and lunged towards Juniper with his fists clenched and his face contorted with rage. “My son is dying and you orchestrated it!”

Juniper turned just in time to see Fermín pop up out of nowhere and land a solid punch straight to Carl’s face, knocking him out cold.

Fermín shook his hand out, “fuck I’ve been wanting to do that for thirty years.”

“Dad!” Juniper looked at Fermín in surprise. “You knocked him out with one punch.”

“He came at my daughter. I was protecting you. There are cameras everywhere to prove it.”

She realized now, her father and mother, along with Beni were positioning themselves so she couldn’t see Kyst getting loaded onto the gurney where the paramedics were taking over from the security team.

“Is he still awake?”

“Thank you, Granddad.”

“Now,” the man accepted the bottle of vodka from his son and held out a shot glass to Juniper. “Let’s salute my birthday and the excitement of turning another year older.“.

“Should we be doing this while people are hurt and being arrested?”

“I’m old. I could die right now. I’m not wasting time on cops.” He grunted as he filled up her glass and then filled his own. “Salute, Juniper.”

“Salute Granddad.” She tossed back the drink as she stared into the eyes of the old man. It hit her as soon as the liquor burned her throat, he was doing what the rest of the family were trying to do. He was distracting her from the scenes which were happening behind her. She leaned closer and kissed his cheek. “Thank you.”

“It is my absolute pleasure.” He patted her hand. “Now, do you think you could do me a favor?”

“What?”

“I really hate one of the guys at the nursing home I’m in. Do you think you can get me one of those teeny tiny guns the lady made so I can get him before he steals the last chocolate pudding cup again?”

At his question Juniper couldn’t help but laugh and her laughing like a fool was how the police found her when the came to take her statement.
