Kicked Out I Unlocked My Ultimate Boss Mode novel Chapter 16

**TITLE: Broken Doesn’t Mean End**
**By M. Kaushik**
**Chapter 16: Eating Well Is a Blessing!**

The air around Helen felt charged with a sense of belonging, as if she had been destined to occupy the pinnacle of this familial pyramid. It was a sensation that enveloped her, a blend of warmth and acceptance that was palpable.

No matter how hard one might try, that kind of serene composure was impossible to feign. It radiated from her, a quiet confidence that spoke volumes.

Felix regarded her with a nod of approval, his voice steady and authoritative as he addressed her. “Now that you’re back, make yourself at home. If there’s anything you need, don’t hesitate to let George know. You’re safe here; no one will treat you poorly.”

As he spoke, he moved with a deliberate grace, retrieving a gold-embossed envelope from his pocket and extending it toward Helen. “This is for you. A little something from me.”

Rebecca and Alexander, eager to join in, swiftly produced their own envelopes, mirroring Felix’s gesture.

“Helen, this is our way of welcoming you back,” Rebecca chimed in, her enthusiasm palpable. “If it’s not enough, just let me know, and I’ll make sure you get more.”

“Exactly, sweetheart! Take it,” Alexander added, his tone warm and encouraging. “The password is your birthday. Spend it on whatever your heart desires; don’t hold back for the family.”

Wendy stood nearby, her gaze fixed on the trio of envelopes. Though they appeared slender, she was acutely aware that each one contained a card loaded with ten million dollars.

In total, they had gifted her a staggering sum of thirty million.

Over the past few days, the family had gone to great lengths, pouring resources into transforming one of the rooms into an enchanting princess castle for Helen’s return, complete with opulent furnishings and extravagant decor.

A sharp pang of envy twisted in Wendy’s chest.

Having lived with the Walcotts for years, she had enjoyed her share of luxuries—designer clothes and a generous allowance—but this level of generosity, this thirty million dollar gift, was something she had never encountered.

The disparity was almost unbearable, a bitter contrast that gnawed at her insides. Her smile felt increasingly strained, and jealousy clawed at her heart, threatening to consume her.

Helen looked at the three envelopes extended toward her, and a gentle warmth blossomed within her heart, softening her features. “Thank you, but I already have money.”

“Silly child!” Rebecca exclaimed, her voice firm yet affectionate as she pressed the envelopes into Helen’s hands. “This is different. That money is yours, but this is our gift to you. It’s how we show our love. Just accept it!”

“Yes, take it!” Felix interjected with a sternness that brooked no argument. “My granddaughter should never want for anything!”

Her grip tightened around her cutlery, her gaze flickering to Helen’s simple, unbranded outfit. With a tone that masqueraded as kindness but held an edge of malice, she remarked, “Helen, you certainly have quite the appetite. It seems you haven’t had many decent meals before.”

“Eating well is a blessing!”

Felix’s voice boomed, cutting through the tension like a knife. His icy glare swept over Wendy, a clear warning. “My granddaughter just saved a life. Naturally, she needs to eat well to regain her strength! Are you suggesting we can’t afford to feed her?”

Rebecca shot Wendy a disapproving look, her eyes narrowing. “Helen just spent two grueling hours in the operating room. Now is the time for her to replenish her energy.”

“And seeing her enjoy the fruits of my labor brings me immense joy,” she added, her eyes sparkling with love and pride.

Wendy’s frustration bubbled to the surface as she witnessed the lengths to which Felix and Rebecca went to protect Helen. Her face twisted in a mixture of anger and resentment, the feeling of being sidelined intensifying with each passing moment.

Since Helen’s return, Wendy felt like nothing more than an afterthought, an extra in a story where she once played a leading role.

She bit her lip, the jealousy gnawing at her appetite, and finally blurted out, “I heard from George about what happened at the hospital. I didn’t expect Helen to be so impressive.”
