Larissa Judson and Haskell Palmer novel Chapter 200

After watching the video, Vivica’s face went pale, and she looked as if she might faint.

Haskell motioned for Crispin to take the tablet from her. He, Sapphira, and Neville watched the footage together.

Sapphira’s expression turned to ice.

“Vivica,” she said, her voice dangerously low, “what do you have to say now? Your son got exactly what he deserved! Our Larissa was lucky to survive this. If she hadn’t, I can’t imagine what the consequences would have been!”

Neville’s cold gaze was fixed on Paxton and Vivica. “As things stand,” he said grimly, “you should be less concerned about settling a score with Larissa, and more worried about how Sapphira and I are going to settle this score with you.”

Caught red-handed, Vivica stammered but quickly regained her shameless composure. “…So Leopold did tamper with the car, but Larissa is fine, isn’t she? My son is the one in a coma! What more do you want? Why are you being so aggressive? Do you want him dead?”

“You have a lot of nerve, Vivica,” Sapphira shot back. “So only you are allowed to demand justice? If the truth hadn't come out, would you have spared Larissa? Leopold is in a coma, so we can’t hold him accountable. But you are his parents. The son’s debt must be paid by the parents!”

Larissa watched contentedly from her bed as her new parents fought her battles, casually eating grapes.

It felt good to be cared for. No wonder Honora was so desperate to stay with the Judsons. Paxton’s family spoiled her, giving her wealth, love, and protection. It was a life she wasn’t willing to give up—so unwilling that she would resort to deadly force.

Vivica puffed out her chest. “And how do you want us to pay? With our lives? Whatever Leopold did, he’s already paid an enormous price! Are you going to drive our entire family into the ground? Have you no heart?”

Kiernan first looked to his eldest son. “Neville, Sapphira, what do you want?”

Neville glanced at Larissa, then met his father’s eyes. “Dad, I won’t make things impossible for Paxton. As Vivica said, it’s not as if we can take their lives. I have only one demand: transfer management of Judson Pharmaceuticals to me. And as compensation for what she went through, transfer ten percent of the company’s shares to Larissa.”

The mention of Judson Pharmaceuticals was a line Paxton would not let them cross. He forgot all decorum and exploded.

“Neville, that’s an outrageous demand! You not only want to take control of Judson Pharmaceuticals, but you also want ten percent of its shares for Larissa? Do you have any idea what that’s worth? This is blatant opportunism! I will never agree to it!”
