Larissa Judson and Haskell Palmer novel Chapter 278

Seeing Zoltan defend Larissa so fiercely, Sapphira’s eyes filled with tears. She and Neville exchanged a look of profound relief.

The other guests now turned their gazes on Paxton’s family, their expressions a mixture of pity and contempt. Paxton felt his face burn with humiliation.

“Finley,” Haskell said, his voice calm but his eyes radiating a chilling coldness, “after I’ve dealt with the matter of the venomous creatures, you and your mother will have to answer for your slander against Larissa. Otherwise, you will not be leaving the Palmer estate tonight.”

A shiver of fear ran down Finley and Vivica’s spines.

Larissa walked to Haskell’s side. “Alright, don’t pay any attention to their useless barking. Let’s figure out how these creatures got into our engagement party in the first place.”

Haskell’s expression softened instantly. “Okay.”

Realizing that Larissa was truly prepared to let her die, Honora finally began to panic. As she coughed up more and more blood, she could feel her life slipping away.

“It hurts… it hurts so much… Finley, Mom… Dad… I don’t want to die…”

At that moment, watching his sister suffer, Finley felt a wave of despair wash over him.

The doctor whom Finley had threatened earlier, unable to bear the sight, sighed and stepped forward. “Fine. I’ll see what I can do for her.”

A flicker of hope ignited in Finley’s eyes. “Thank you, Doctor!”

The doctor held up a hand. “Don’t thank me yet. Your sister has been poisoned for a long time, and the venom is deep in her system. All I can do is try to keep her alive.”

At that, a guest pieced it together.

“If Draven knew about Larissa’s past, then it’s possible he was the one who planted the creatures here to frame her.”

“That’s right! He wanted to ruin the engagement party, didn’t he? He has a much stronger motive than Larissa does! She has no motive at all!”

Sensing the tide turning against him, Draven began to panic. He pointed a trembling finger at Finley.

“It was Finley! He gave me the information and asked me to help him deal with Larissa! I was only cooperating because I was afraid she posed a threat to you, Bro! I had no idea he would resort to such a despicable method to frame her!”
