Larissa Judson and Haskell Palmer novel Chapter 470

Just then, the representative from Beacon Media stood up. “We accept,” he said firmly. “We have absolute faith in your talent, and we are certain your next novel will surpass even your current achievements. We are honored by this opportunity and look forward to our next collaboration.”

Following his lead, the representatives from the other two chosen companies also stood and expressed their gratitude and honor at being recognized by Larissa.

On the second-floor balcony, Sharon watched with renewed admiration. “Larissa’s approach is fascinating. She’s essentially telling every other company here that they lost ‘Heaven’s Will’ because they lacked either the money of Gale Entertainment or the integrity of these three.”

“But surely some of them will hold a grudge,” her friend commented.

Sharon scoffed. “What good is a grudge in the face of overwhelming talent? If Larissa’s next novel is as big a hit as she claims it will be, then she has every right to be this confident.”

Downstairs, Haskell smiled. “Crispin, let’s go down.”

As Haskell descended, Lucius, still seething from being so thoroughly outmaneuvered in front of his rival, rose to his feet. His eyes, cold and menacing, locked onto Larissa.

But instead of shrinking from his murderous gaze, Larissa walked directly toward him, a faint, mocking smile on her lips.

“Mr. Lincoln,” she said sweetly, stopping just before him, “consider the 600 million I saved you a contribution to your family’s funeral fund. Use it wisely. You might not have many more chances to be so extravagant.”

Funeral fund?!

The sheer audacity of her statement was breathtaking. Damon broke into a cold sweat.

Lucius’s voice was dangerously low. “Enjoy your moment, Larissa. You won’t have many more days of such arrogance left.”

With that, he turned and strode out of the room.

Seeing Haskell and Crispin on the main floor, the two brothers followed them down.

Leila saw Garrick approaching and instinctively tensed, but with Larissa nearby, she felt an unfamiliar sense of security.

“Well, Larissa, you really are full of surprises, a celebrated novelist,” Fraser said with a smile as he reached the bottom of the stairs. “Haskell has truly found a treasure. You’ve been back in Regal City for less than a month and have already caused three major sensations. I can’t wait to see what kind of surprise you have in store for us high-society folk next.”

“Oh, there are plenty more surprises to come,” Larissa replied coolly. “Perhaps the next one will be your family’s humiliation.”

Fraser’s smile didn’t waver.

Garrick, however, cut straight to the point. “Larissa, after you left the auction the other day, was it you who sent Finley to snatch Leila from me?”
