Larissa Judson and Haskell Palmer novel Chapter 493

Ursa, sneaking a glance at Haskell’s breathtaking face, quickly replied, “We’re… voluntarily working overtime, Ms. Judson!”

“That’s right! The company is short-staffed, so we wanted to help out!” the others chimed in.

In reality, they had skipped their lunch just for the chance to get another look at the legendary scion of Regal City’s most powerful family. If it weren’t for their new CEO, they would never have had the opportunity to see such a figure in person. Every extra glance was a bonus. What was a little unpaid overtime?

Larissa saw right through them but simply said with a wry smile, “Your dedication is admirable.”

Once they were downstairs, she couldn’t resist teasing Haskell. “You know, maybe you should come to Starlight Media every day. It seems to be a great motivator for my employees to work overtime voluntarily.”

She glanced up at the window, where a few heads quickly ducked back out of sight.

Haskell just smiled. “Weren’t you the one who told me to watch myself, so you wouldn’t get the short end of the stick? And now you want to pimp me out for company morale?”

Larissa replied shamelessly, “Hey, desperate times call for desperate measures. If a flash of your handsome face can boost productivity, it’s a win-win.”

Haskell feigned a look of betrayal. “You’re revealing your true ruthless businesswoman nature, Larissa.”

“Just doing my job,” she laughed. “Alright, Mr. Palmer, I’ll see you tomorrow.”

Haskell smiled back. “See you tomorrow, Ms. Judson.”

Mr. Lincoln’s assistant had called him yesterday with an offer: collaborate with Gale Entertainment, and he would receive an invitation to next year’s exclusive “Mystique Blossom” gala. The event was shrouded in mystery, rumored to be a gathering of Regal City’s most powerful figures.

As a director, he had fame, but he had yet to truly penetrate the city’s upper echelons. He felt he had hit a ceiling. At his age, if he didn’t seize this opportunity, he never would.

This was his chance to climb higher.

Damon spoke with gravity. “You must have seen the news from the Field of Lari event last week. Mr. Lincoln’s objective is simple: rush a series with a similar theme to ‘Heaven’s Will’ to market before they can, and completely overshadow them. With your talent, I have no doubt you can achieve this.”

Benedict preened at the compliment. “Larissa is just some rich girl who knows nothing about this industry. To think she can create a hit on her first try is a pipe dream. Just because other companies had success adapting her other works, she thinks she can do it herself. Tell Mr. Lincoln I will make sure she falls flat on her face.”
