Larissa Judson and Haskell Palmer novel Chapter 571

Unsure why Gustave was suddenly asking, Larissa replied, “Of course. He was one of the candidates for the male lead in Gale Entertainment’s show.”

She had, however, arranged for Livia to have him rejected. Otherwise, Gale Entertainment might have actually cast him, which would have ruined her plan to sabotage their series.

“Right. Well, probably because he was rejected by them, Rigby called me yesterday,” Gustave explained. “He said he wants to audition for the role of the main villain in ‘Heaven’s Will’.”

So that was it.

Hearing this, Larissa felt a pang of guilt. Rigby was, in a way, a casualty of her battle with Lucius. She had already been considering casting him as the lead in Starlight Media’s next project, if he was interested.

“To be honest, Rigby is relatively new, he’s only been in the business for two years. But I’ve seen his work. Compared to Fulbright, who Gale ultimately chose, Rigby’s acting has more raw talent and isn’t so formulaic. So I gave him an audition slot for today.”

So that was Gustave’s plan.

Larissa smiled. “Gustave, I’ve told you before, casting decisions are entirely up to you. As long as you’re happy with the choice, that’s all that matters.”

“I appreciate you saying that, Larissa,” Gustave replied, “but I have some concerns. Like Wynn, he has a lot of scandals attached to his name. I know Wynn personally, but I don’t know much about Rigby. Plus, he auditioned for ‘Soaring High’ and only considered our project after being rejected.”

“Don’t worry, Gustave,” Larissa assured him. “I’ve already had Rigby looked into. Those scandals were fabricated to smear him. He’s clean. Even if you choose him, it won’t negatively affect the show. I trust your judgment. Don’t let anything else hold you back.”

“Alright. If he passes the audition, I’ll cast him.”

“Good.”

They didn’t notice her at first. Three actors sitting nearest to her were whispering among themselves.

“I don’t know what Rigby is thinking, coming here to audition for ‘Heaven’s Will’. There’s no way Starlight Media will hire him.”

“Yeah, he’s got so many scandals, and he even assaulted a director on set. I heard he’s basically blacklisted.”

“He got rejected by Gale Entertainment, and now he thinks Starlight will take him? Doesn’t he know the two companies are at war?”

Larissa’s gaze settled on a young man sitting quietly in the middle of the hallway, alone and seemingly detached from the surrounding chatter. Though it was snowing in Regal City, he wore a simple, crisp white down jacket and black pants.
