Larissa Judson and Haskell Palmer novel Chapter 591

“I agree,” Haskell answered without a moment's hesitation.

The directness of the response caught Sire off guard. He had expected some objections, or at the very least, a moment of consideration. Instead, Haskell's immediate agreement left him momentarily speechless.

Haskell seemed to notice Sire's surprise. He offered a small smile and explained, "You're the one who rescued and raised Rigby. You know him far better than I do. If you believe this is what's best for him, then I trust your judgment."

He then added, "And don't worry, Sire. I'll provide Rigby with all the resources, connections, and money he needs. From this day forward, no one will ever push him around again. If he sees something wrong and wants to step in, just like he did with that director, Kenric, he can do so without hesitation. I'll be there to handle the fallout. In short, his life is about to get a lot smoother."

Haskell's words were a profound relief to Sire. He could tell the offer was genuine. Haskell truly wanted to help Rigby.

Sire turned to Rigby, a silent question in his eyes.

Rigby understood and gave a firm nod, signaling his agreement with Haskell's plan.

In truth, if it turned out Haskell really was his brother, Rigby’s greatest desire was simple: to keep himself and Sire safe. With Haskell’s power and protection, that finally seemed possible.

It wasn't about the money; Rigby was confident in his ability to earn his own way. But reality was a cruel thing. No matter how talented he was, powerful people could always slam the door on his opportunities.

Take what happened with Kenric. After their run-in, his path in the industry had become a minefield. Kenric wasn't even a top-tier director, yet a single word from him was enough to derail Rigby's entire career. He knew it would be nearly impossible to find work unless a director with more clout than Kenric was willing to overlook his reputation for assaulting a colleague.

His tone was so easy and natural it put Rigby at ease, as if it truly wasn't a big deal at all.

Rigby took a deep breath, the tension in his shoulders loosening slightly. "So, when can we expect the results of the... test?"

Even with Sire's testimony, Rigby needed the certainty of a medical confirmation. Only then could he be one hundred percent sure.

"Crispin is having the lab put a rush on it," Haskell replied. "We should have the results by tomorrow."
