Larissa Judson and Haskell Palmer novel Chapter 594

“And another thing!” Vivica shouted after her. “A woman with no class, scheming to marry into a wealthy family instead of focusing on her work! Larissa, you should fire employees with such poor character immediately!”

Larissa stared at her. “Are you finished? If so, get out.”

“Not until you tell me where Finley is,” Vivica demanded.

“I don’t know.”

“You’re lying! You must have said something to him! Or maybe you kidnapped him!”

Tired of the argument, Larissa pulled out her phone and called Leopold. He answered almost immediately, his voice hopeful. “Larissa…”

“Leopold,” she interrupted, her tone sharp with annoyance, “can you please come get your mother? I’m tired of her harassing me.”

There was a pause on the other end. “She’s there with you?”

“Yes, at Starlight Media, demanding to know where Finley is,” Larissa said impatiently. “Frankly, I’d like to know too. Did he die? Why else would he just disappear? If you don’t get her out of here, I will have her forcibly removed.”

“I’m sorry, Larissa. I’m on my way now,” Leopold said quickly, and hung up.

Vivica was aghast. “You called Leopold to get rid of me? You saw how your grandfather feels. He wants this family to be at peace. If you keep acting like this, you’ll lose his support entirely.”

Larissa had heard enough. She plucked a silver needle from her sleeve and, with a flick of her wrist, sent it flying into Vivica’s neck.

“You—!” Vivica started to protest, but her eyelids grew heavy, and she slumped unconscious onto the sofa.

Leaving her there, Larissa returned to her office and summoned her secretary. “Send Hazel from HR to my office.”

She then bowed deeply. “And I’m truly sorry.”

“Don’t be sorry to me,” Larissa said with a wave of her hand. “Be true to yourself. Now go on, get back to work.”

As Hazel left, her back straight and her head held high, Larissa leaned back and closed her eyes, only to be startled by her phone ringing.

She glanced at the screen. It was Zendar.

“Hi, Zendar.”

“Larissa, what is going on with this Finley character?” Zendar asked, sounding exasperated.

Larissa raised an eyebrow, surprised to hear Finley’s name from him. “What about him?”
