Larissa Judson and Haskell Palmer novel Chapter 624

Neville immediately chimed in. “Dad, you know where I stand. After what happened with Sapphira, I’m done with Paxton. If he weren’t my brother, I would have had him arrested.”

Since the incident, Neville had stopped referring to Paxton as his younger brother.

Larissa added, “Curing Finley was the last bit of mercy I’ll ever show them. You should know that, Grandpa. If you push me any further on this, I won’t be so understanding.”

Kiernan nodded gravely. “I understand. To be honest, I already knew your answer.”

“Dinner’s ready,” Sapphira announced, walking in with a platter of fruit and placing it on the table. “Since you’re here, Dad, why don’t you stay and eat with us?”

Sensing it was time to drop the subject, Kiernan agreed. “Alright.”

After dinner, Neville retrieved a tablet from his study. “Since you’re here, Dad, you might as well look this over. It’s the guest list for Larissa’s birthday. Let me know if there’s anyone else you think we should invite.”

Kiernan took the tablet. The list was much shorter than the one for her welcome banquet, mostly comprised of close friends and family. There were many names he didn't recognize.

“Those are the villagers from Spire Village, Zendar and his group. They’re coming to celebrate,” Neville explained before turning to Larissa. “We didn’t arrange transportation for them for your engagement party, but since we’re inviting more people this time, I’ll have cars sent to pick them up.”

“Perfect,” Larissa said with a smile. “I know I can count on my handsome dad to take care of everything.”

“Grandpa? What did she say?” he asked anxiously.

“She was very clear. She will not be inviting your family,” Kiernan said, his tone serious. “I had hoped you could all reconcile, but I see now that the best thing you can do for Larissa is to leave her alone.”

His next words were firm. “Don’t call me about her again. I won’t help you anymore. My only hope now is to see the Judson family continue to thrive under Larissa’s leadership. As for your family… you’re on your own.”

He continued, his voice devoid of warmth, “I may have given Larissa all the family properties and assets, but you still have a considerable amount of cash. Your father and Finley can start a small business. You’re a singer; you can earn your own living. I suggest you appreciate what you have and stop making trouble for yourselves.”
