Sapphira grew even more bashful. “You don’t have to do that. You’re the star of the party.”
“So, how are the preparations for your fashion design studio coming along?” Larissa asked, turning to her.
“I’ve just secured a location and signed the lease,” Sapphira said. “I’ll be hiring someone to draw up the interior design plans in the next few days, and then we can start renovations.”
“With your talent and style, the studio will be flooded with orders,” Larissa said earnestly. “I truly believe that if you stick with it, you can build a new luxury fashion brand.”
The praise and validation bolstered Sapphira’s confidence, which had been slowly returning after so many years away from fashion design. “I’m going to see it through. I did promise that I would personally design a unique gown for you for every formal event from now on.”
Neville put on a pitiful expression. “Sapphira, have you ever considered designing menswear? Maybe you could do some custom pieces for me in the future?”
Sapphira shot him a look. “As if I have that much energy.”
He sighed dramatically. “Alas, now that you have your daughter, this husband of yours is no longer the favorite.”
“When did you get so shameless?” Sapphira said, unable to hide a smile.
“I learned from our daughter,” Neville shot back instantly.
“That’s not true!” Larissa protested with a laugh. “Dad, you’ve always been the quiet, brooding type. You’re just not hiding it anymore.”
Her words made Sapphira burst out laughing. “I give up on you two.”
After she had composed herself, she carefully hung the gown back up. “We’ll bring it out again on the day of your party.”
“Theon’s mother, Margot, is actually quite a capable woman in her own right,” Nightveil began. “She attended a top university back in the day as a scholarship student sponsored by Damon Tyson. They met at an appreciation event, and her innocent looks quickly caught his eye. Her biggest scandal was becoming his mistress, but she successfully secured her position. Since then, she’s kept a low profile, never doing anything to cross Damon. In fact, to please him, she once took the initiative to find other young female students for him.”
Larissa let out a cold laugh. “So, Theon’s mother has a remarkable capacity for patience. She was willing to find other women for her own husband.”
“Well, she’d already given him a son,” Nightveil explained. “As long as she didn’t make any mistakes, her son was set to inherit Damon’s fortune. She was afraid that if she did anything to displease Damon before her son took over Gale Entertainment, all her efforts would be for nothing. So she did everything she could to keep him happy.”
It sounded like Margot wouldn’t be an easy target unless they set a trap for her.
“What about Theon?” Larissa asked.
“Theon,” Nightveil said, her tone shifting, “is connected to a shocking murder.”
