Larissa Judson and Haskell Palmer novel Chapter 655

"What's there to be afraid of? I only came here today to see how tough your skull really is."

As she spoke, her hands clamped down on Theon's head, her fingers pressing into his skull as if she were genuinely testing its durability.

Theon tried to fight back but found himself completely paralyzed.

"Larissa, what the hell are you doing?" he demanded, his voice trembling with a fear he couldn't hide.

The others heard his voice but remained silent. In the pitch-black room, it was clear Larissa was only after Theon. They didn't want to get involved and risk becoming her next target.

Only Livia felt no fear. She knew Larissa wouldn't harm her.

Unexpectedly, a strong arm wrapped around her shoulder, and a deep voice murmured in her ear, "Scared?"

It was Lucius.

Livia froze for a moment before whispering a lie. "A little."

"Then move closer," Lucius said.

"...Alright." Reluctantly, she shifted closer until they were pressed together.

Was she touched?

Hardly. She knew exactly what kind of man Lucius was. He treated her like a possession. His cheap displays of concern meant nothing to her.

On the other side of the room, Milton, worried for his own safety, had curled up into a ball on the sofa, pushing Honora in front of him as a human shield.

Honora gritted her teeth, cursing him internally. “Just moments ago, he was boasting about getting revenge on Larissa for me! What a pathetic coward.”

Larissa answered Theon’s question as if no one else was in the room. "Not doing much. Like I said, just checking how hard your skull is."

"Let's just say I found out about it," Larissa said, rapping her knuckles against his head again. "And I happened to be looking for a reason to deal with you anyway."

Theon gritted his teeth. "Larissa, do you think you're still some country bumpkin from a village? It's not worth getting blood on your hands for people you don't even know! Let me go, and I'll have all the negative stories about Wynn and Rigby taken down!"

Larissa chuckled softly. "Is that all the backbone you have, Theon? I thought your bones would be as hard as your mouth. Turns out, you're not so tough after all."

As she finished speaking, her hands released him. Bathed in a cold sweat, Theon let out a sigh of relief. But in the next second, something heavy smashed against his head.

"Aaargh!" Theon screamed in agony.

“Crash.”

The sound of shattering glass echoed through the darkness.
