Larissa Judson and Haskell Palmer novel Chapter 664

Herbert was crying too hard to speak.

"Tell me!" Margot shrieked again. "Why is my son like this?"

Wiping tears from his face, Herbert choked out an explanation. "I was following your orders, Madam, driving the Young Master to the airport. He started making a scene, demanding to get out. I was afraid he'd actually jump from the moving car, so I pulled over to try and calm him down."

His expression grew more pained, as if reliving the horror. He wiped away another stream of tears. "The moment the car stopped, he jumped out. But as soon as he was on the road, a car came speeding up from behind and slammed right into him. I didn't even have time to push him out of the way."

"One hit did this to my son? It left him unrecognizable?" Margot screamed.

"That wasn't all," Herbert continued, his voice trembling. "I was about to get out to check on him when the car stopped, turned around, and drove right over him as he lay on the ground. I saw it clearly this time. The driver deliberately aimed for his head. That's why… that's why his head is…"

He couldn't finish the sentence. The gruesome scene had made everyone nearby scream in terror.

"Tell me who it was!" Margot grabbed Herbert's collar, shaking him. "Who killed my son?"

Herbert finally found the strength to answer. "It was a crazy woman named Trudy. The police have already taken her in for questioning."

Trudy?

Outside the morgue, Livia's heart skipped a beat when she heard the name.

"I will never forgive you!" Margot spat. With that, she spun around and stormed away.

Livia glanced back at the white-sheeted gurney in the morgue, where Herbert was frantically calling Damon, before turning to follow Margot.

She needed to go to the police station too. She had to know what was going on. She knew the name Trudy; Lucius had mentioned her once, and she had passed the information on to Larissa. Trudy was supposed to be one of Lucius's people. Why would she kill Theon so viciously?

Could this be Larissa's doing?

If it was, and the police traced it back to her, she could be charged with murder for hire. As much as Livia wanted Theon and his mother gone, she couldn't let Larissa get a murder charge on her hands.
