Larissa Judson and Haskell Palmer novel Chapter 747

Finley arrived at the apartment just in time to hear his father’s hysterical roar, the sound of a cornered animal’s dying cry, slamming against his eardrums:

“You useless piece of trash, how could you fail?! Aren’t you supposed to be the professional killer Lucius hired, the one with a hundred percent success rate? You couldn’t even take down one woman! You’re a fucking waste…”

Finley’s feet froze in the shadows of the entryway, his heart seized by an icy grip. A cold, slithering dread crept up his spine.

“Well, look who it is. Finley, you’re here. Now the whole family is together,” Larissa said from her spot by the door, turning as she heard his footsteps.

She then moved Haskell’s wheelchair aside, clearing the path for Finley to enter.

Finley took a deep, shuddering breath and stumbled into the harshly lit living room. Under the cold glare of the crystal chandelier, everything was exposed.

His grandfather, Kiernan, leaned heavily on an ebony cane, his face ashen, his chest heaving with rage. “You monster… How could you do something so utterly devoid of conscience!”

Leopold stared at their father, his eyes burning with disbelief and a pain that bordered on collapse.

In a corner, a man was tied up, covered in bruises.

Finley’s gaze finally landed on his father, Paxton.

Paxton looked at Vivica’s pale face and desperately tried to justify his actions. “You think I wanted this?! I did it all for our sons’ futures! For this family to have a chance! Look at yourself—what good are you now? Huh?!”

His words were like poisoned whips, lashing at Vivica’s heart.

“Remember when we begged your family for help? Remember the looks on your brother and sister-in-law’s faces? Even the servants looked down on us! Tell me, what can you do for this family anymore? Nothing! You’re useless! A dead weight! And since you can’t do anything—”

Paxton sucked in a sharp breath, the muscles in his face twitching violently as he continued to roar:

“—then you might as well be useful! Use your life! Use it as a stepping stone for our sons! That is your final purpose! That witch Larissa is ruthless and recognizes no family! As long as she’s around, our sons will never have a future! Only when she’s locked away—preferably forever—can our sons return to the Judson family and have a chance at their inheritance! I used your life to frame her! To pin the crime of matricide on her! It was a desperate gamble! A way to rise from the ashes! Wasn’t it worth it?!”
