Larissa Judson and Haskell Palmer novel Chapter 755

Lucius was instantly wide awake.

“Mr. Lincoln, Madam Helena requests your presence downstairs immediately!”

“I know,” Lucius replied, sitting up. He didn’t bother to wash up. Instead, he grabbed his phone and called his assistant, Aidric, roaring into the receiver, “I told you to monitor the web and kill any news about last night! Contact every platform now and get everything about Neverending Night taken down!”

“It’s no use, Mr. Lincoln,” the assistant said, his voice strained. “There are too many videos, they’re everywhere. Even if we pay to have them removed, they just pop up again on different gossip accounts.”

“I don’t want to hear your excuses!” Lucius snarled. “I don’t care what it takes or how much it costs, I want every trace of last night’s events scrubbed from the internet within the next half hour!”

He hung up and immediately opened Twitter, TikTok, and other major social media sites.

Sure enough, the hashtag #Neverending Night Orgy was trending at number one. The internet was flooded with videos from various guests at the club. Although faces were blurred, it was obvious what was happening.

[OMG! An orgy at Neverending Night?! That's insane!]

[Insane? This is illegal! And on this scale? Over fifty people at the country’s biggest nightclub!]

[Yeah! Neverending Night! If this was some shady little bar, fine. But this is where all the rich and powerful people in Regal City go. They shouldn’t be making mistakes like this!]

[I heard they’ve identified the fifty people. They’re all prominent figures in Regal City!]

[Tsk tsk, well, they’re certainly famous now!]

Lucius violently threw his phone against the wall. With a furious sweep of his arm, he sent everything on his nightstand crashing to the floor.

“Bastards!” He roared, letting out his frustration. It wasn't enough. He got out of bed and began punching the wall, again and again.

Lucius kept his head down. “I do,” he mumbled.

“Do you know how disappointed your father would be if he knew you brought such shame upon our family?!”

At the mention of his late father, Lucius’s eyes reddened. “...I’ve failed him.”

His father had died saving him. Before that, Lucius had been nothing more than a pampered rich boy. He had believed the Lincoln family was a legitimate enterprise, so when he discovered their roots in organized crime and that many of their current businesses still operated in a legal gray area, he couldn't accept it.

He had looked down on his father. He had even hated him for not being strong enough to change the family’s legacy, for making him the heir to a tainted fortune.

He ran away from home, only to be kidnapped by his family’s enemies. His father had traded his own life for Lucius’s.

Only after his father’s death did Lucius realize how naive he had been. He grew up overnight.
