Larissa Judson and Haskell Palmer novel Chapter 765

Avril’s friend, the group admin, chimed in: [Ms. Judson, Milton just left the group.]

Someone else added: [Not just that, I heard he’s planning to leave the country.]

Larissa clicked her tongue.

What a sore loser!

Haskell, who had been resting with his eyes closed, opened them at the sound. “What’s wrong?”

Larissa shrugged. “Nothing. You know that bet I made with Lucius’s lackey, Milton? Looks like he’s about to become my new pet, so he’s trying to flee the country to avoid it.”

She typed another message in the group:

[Does he really think leaving the group and skipping the country will save him from being walked on a leash?]

[Anyone in here know where the mutt lives?]

A moment later, a user eager for drama posted a location pin.

[Here.]

[Perfect! Thanks! The mutt can’t hide. On the 25th, I’ll be livestreaming my dog walk as scheduled. Stay tuned, everyone!]

Just then, someone tried to play peacemaker: [Ms. Judson, you should learn to forgive and forget.]

Larissa shot back: [How about you take his place on the leash?]

The person went silent.

Larissa put down her phone and stretched. “Now I have to figure out how to catch a runaway mutt.”

Haskell smiled. “Allow me.”

“You’ve only ever kissed me sitting down. When your legs are better, I want you to kiss me standing up, so I have to look up at you,” she explained reasonably.

“That makes sense,” he said. He brought her hand to his lips and kissed it softly. “When my legs are healed, it will be my turn to bend down to kiss you.”

“I understand, Crispin. Tell Haskell I’ll keep an eye on my son.”

After hanging up, Arlo Lester’s face darkened. He immediately called his butler. “What is Milton doing?”

“He’s packing his bags, sir. He said he’s going on vacation abroad.”

“Stop him,” Arlo ordered. “Lock him in his room. He’s not to leave the house for the next three days.”

The butler hesitated. “But sir, if he stays, in three days, he’ll have to…”
