Larissa Judson and Haskell Palmer novel Chapter 800

Slap!

Without a word, Larissa struck Fergus across his still-swollen face. The sharp sting instantly dispelled any pretense of sleepiness. He was completely stunned.

Was this woman a tyrant? Why did she always resort to violence without any warning? He had specifically dressed this way to disarm her, and it had been utterly useless.

Larissa rubbed her palm, her voice nonchalant. "Fergus, from now on, don't lock your door. What if something happened to you in here and I couldn't get in to save you?"

Fergus clutched his stinging cheek, his anger simmering beneath the surface. "…I understand. I'm sorry for worrying you."

"Did you think about your cousin Lucius today?" she asked.

Fergus blinked, then shook his head. "Why would I think about him? I want to kill him, not miss him. If he hadn't beaten me so badly…"

"I beat you pretty badly today," Larissa interrupted. "Does that mean you want to kill me, too?"

"No!" Fergus said quickly. "Larissa, you were helping me atone!"

Larissa's eyes crinkled in a satisfied smile. "Good boy. Such a good attitude. I might consider making your atonement a little lighter tomorrow. Now, get some rest. You'll be joining us for breakfast again."

"…Okay. Goodnight, Larissa," Fergus forced a smile.

As soon as Larissa was gone, Fergus watched from the window as she walked toward the east wing. Then, he turned and kicked the vanity table with all his might.

Crash!

Cosmetics and trinkets scattered across the floor.

That bitch! One day, he would make her regret this. But with his phone and all other communication devices confiscated, how was he going to contact Lucius and get him out of here?

Back in the east wing, Sapphira and Neville were waiting in the living room.

[Whatever! You deserve to be hurt by scumbags!]

[You can't save someone who wants to be ruined. Can't wait to see how badly this blows up in your face!]

[Is it possible Tawny agreed because she and Wynn are back together?]

[Probably! What a hopeless romantic!]

[A scumbag and a sellout. They're perfect for each other!]

[Unfollowed. I can't support someone with no self-respect.]

Larissa went to her own account and posted a reply to Tawny.

[A pleasure to be working with you. P.S. For everyone wondering about Tawny and Wynn's relationship, there's a big reveal coming tomorrow. Stay tuned~]
