Larissa Judson and Haskell Palmer novel Chapter 844

How could Larissa possibly know about the training center’s secret?

Larissa’s eyes drifted down to Honora’s stomach. “Let me guess. That night you were drugged, you ended up in bed with Lucius. Now you’re pregnant with his child, hoping to use the baby to marry your way into the Lincoln family?”

Avril’s jaw dropped. “Honora’s pregnant with Lucius’s child? Not Milton’s?”

Realizing there was no point in hiding it, Honora steadied herself.

“So what if I am?” she spat, her voice laced with venom. “I haven’t lost yet, Larissa. Just you wait. Once I marry Lucius, I’ll help him send you straight to hell.”

A dismissive smile touched Larissa’s lips. “Do you know why you haven’t lost yet?”

Honora glared, her eyes practically shooting daggers.

“It’s not because you still have a chance,” Larissa continued, her tone dangerously soft. “It’s because I haven’t had the time to deal with you. Look at yourself. You’ve become the very person you always claimed to despise. Don’t you feel disgusted when you look in the mirror?”

The words struck Honora like a physical blow. She clenched her fists, her nails digging into her palms as she fought back a wave of fury and humiliation.

“We’ll see who has the last laugh,” she hissed through gritted teeth.

With that, she spun around and stormed away.

The conversation inside stopped abruptly as every head turned in her direction. For a moment, Larissa was the sole focus of the room, and even with all her poise, the sudden scrutiny felt awkward. It was the first time she’d ever felt anything akin to meeting a boyfriend’s family.

However, the men’s gazes held no malice, only friendly curiosity. They quickly recovered, offering warm greetings.

Haskell, seeing her hesitate at the door, smiled and walked over. He took her hand, his voice a low murmur in her ear. “What are you waiting for? Come on in.”

Larissa snapped out of her daze, letting him lead her to a seat. The man nearest the door rose and quietly closed it behind them.

Once she was seated, Haskell rested a hand gently on her shoulder and made the formal introduction. “Everyone, this is my fiancée, Larissa Judson. Though I’m sure you all know who she is.”
