Larissa Judson and Haskell Palmer novel Chapter 909

Haskell chuckled. “If you stay here, you'll have to sleep in the same room as me. When I stay at your place, I'm at least in the room next door, which is bearable. But if we're in the same room, I'm not sure I can control myself. My legs are almost fully healed, and I don't want to ruin our perfect first night by rushing things.”

Larissa's smile was mischievous. “Aren't you worried that without a ‘rehearsal,’ our first time might be a failure or a bad experience?”

Her teasing made him laugh. He said seriously, “Don't worry, I won't let our first time be anything less than perfect. I promise to give you an experience you've never had before.” He paused, then added with a grin, “And if it really is a failure, I'll just have to make it up to you many times over.”

Larissa laughed at his words. “Oh, a compensation plan. I like that.”

Just then, the amorous atmosphere was broken by the ringing of Larissa's phone. She pulled it out and saw it was Nightveil calling.

She answered. “What's up?”

Nightveil's voice came through. “Josette is crying and screaming, demanding to be let go.”

A smirk played on Larissa's lips, her tone dripping with amusement and scorn. “Heh, she couldn't take it anymore, huh? Alright, I'll be over in a bit to deal with her.”

“Understood.”

After hanging up, Larissa put her phone away and stretched. “Haskell, it's getting late. I should go handle the situation with Fergus and Josette.”

Haskell picked up his cane and stood. “I'll walk you out. Think of it as physical therapy for my legs.”

“You raised me? How? Did you have the money to raise me? It was always the Lincoln family that took care of me! My last name is Lincoln! If my mother wasn't you, the family wouldn't be in this mess. My dad wouldn't be in prison, my grandma wouldn't be in prison, and Lucius wouldn't be in prison! You're a curse, a jinx, why don't you just die!”

Larissa pushed the door open and walked in, looking at the battered Josette. “My dear aunt, are you still so eager to reunite with your son?”

Josette scrambled up from the floor, weeping, and rushed to grab Larissa's leg, begging for mercy. “No more… Fergus is an ungrateful monster! I'd have been better off giving birth to a block of wood!”

“Heh, as long as you know,” Larissa said, kicking Josette away. “Since you are my aunt, and you haven't caused me any real harm, I'll give you one last chance: go take care of my grandfather.”

Hearing she could leave, Josette was instantly relieved. She knelt on the floor, tears streaming down her face. “Yes, yes! I'll take good care of him! My dear niece, I was wrong before. I'm so sorry. I'll never go against you again!”
