Larissa's Game of Thrones (Larissa) novel Chapter 147

“Did Larissa say something to you?” Leopold asked, sensing there was more to the story.

Finley was evasive. “Just investigate. If you find nothing, then it’s nothing. If you find something, you’ll understand.”

Leopold pouted. “Fine.” His brother always had to be so secretive.

Just then, Finley’s phone buzzed on his desk. He glanced at the caller ID.

“It’s Honora.”

He answered, and Honora’s sweet voice came through the line.

“Finley, you know that author I told you about, the one on the same site as the famous Field of Lari? I’m talking to him right now, and he said he’d try to set up a meeting for me.”

It was the first piece of good news Finley had heard in days.

“Does your friend have any idea when that might be?” he asked eagerly.

“Not yet…”

“Tell your friend,” Finley said, his voice urgent, “that if he successfully arranges a meeting with Field of Lari for me, I’ll pay him five hundred thousand dollars.”

“Finley, my friend isn’t really doing this for the money, but I’ll pass along the message. Anyway, I won’t keep you from your work. I’ll talk to you later.”

“Alright.”

Finley hung up the phone and let out a long sigh of relief.

Honora stirred her coffee, understanding his implication but choosing to ignore it. “Thank you, Solon. So, is three days enough time?”

Solon was handsome, she admitted, but he was just a popular web novelist. He was nothing compared to a titan like Haskell. Now that she had given up on Haskell, she certainly wasn’t going to lower her standards for Solon.

He didn’t press her for a response, instead giving a gentlemanly nod. “No problem. If things go smoothly, I might even have an answer for you tonight.”

Honora winked at him playfully. “Thank you, Solon. I’ll be waiting for your good news.”

She lifted her cup and took a delicate sip of coffee.

If she could help Finley secure the rights to Field of Lari’s final novel and make Starlight Media a success, he would be indebted to her. He would adore her. Losing one little talent show to Larissa would mean nothing in the long run.
