Larissa's Game of Thrones (Larissa) novel Chapter 195

A knot of dread formed in Honora’s stomach. She knew, instinctively, that whatever Larissa had to say would not be good news.

“What was it?”

“She said,” Finley began, his voice laced with bitterness, “that Solon is the sole heir to the Schwartz family of Regal City.”

Before Honora could react, Paxton gasped. “You mean the Schwartz family with the massive research and development background?”

“That seems to be what Larissa meant,” Finley confirmed.

The confirmation hit Paxton hard. He had spent years and countless resources trying to establish a connection with the Schwartz family, desperate to leverage their powerful scientific assets. The family owned advanced agricultural bases and had developed numerous new medicinal compounds. Yet, bizarrely, they only sold the raw materials, never venturing into pharmaceutical production themselves.

For years, Judson Pharmaceuticals Paxton managed had stagnated. He had been racking his brain for a way to innovate, to break into new drug development, but every attempt to partner with the Schwartz family had been a dead end.

And now his son was telling him he had just thrown away a golden opportunity for Honora to marry into their family and secure an invaluable alliance?

The news made Honora stagger, and she had to grip the edge of the bed to steady herself. So, the heir to the Schwartz family had been interested in her, and she had pushed him away.

Solon Schwartz. She had assumed it was a pen name, never once connecting him to the mysterious and reclusive Schwartz heir.

Finley, however, saw the strain on her face. What good would an apology do now? After what happened yesterday, Solon was clearly disillusioned with Honora. Besides, he and Larissa seemed to be good friends. Why would he ever side with Honora?

“Dad, Mom, Finley, I’ll head home for now,” Honora said. “I’ll find a time to apologize to Solon and explain what happened. I’ll be back tonight to watch over Leopold.”

“Go on,” Paxton nodded. “We’ll be relying on you to look after Leopold for the time being.”

“It’s the least I can do,” Honora replied sweetly. “Leopold has always been so good to me. I wish it were me lying in that bed instead of him.”

As she spoke the words, the eyelashes of the comatose figure on the bed fluttered.
