Larissa's Game of Thrones (Larissa) novel Chapter 215

“Things are busy,” Finley admitted, his gaze shifting back to Leopold. “I figured I wouldn’t be able to sleep anyway, so I thought I’d come see how he’s doing. I brought you some pastries in case you get hungry.”

He placed a paper bag on the bedside table.

Honora’s face lit up at the familiar logo. “Thank you, Finley! It’s from my favorite bakery.”

“I know,” he said, sitting down. “I’ll stay and talk to him for a bit before I go.”

“Of course.” Seeing that he intended to stay, Honora lowered her eyes and said softly, “Mom was furious today. Grandpa found out about the car crash. There’s security footage proving Leopold tampered with Larissa’s brakes first. As compensation, he gave Larissa ten percent of Judson Pharmaceuticals and thirty percent of Starlight Media.”

Finley’s eyes widened, his voice rising in disbelief. “What did you just say? He’s giving her ten percent of Judson Pharmaceuticals and thirty percent of Starlight Media?!”

Honora nodded grimly. “That’s right.”

Finley hadn’t been to the hospital that afternoon and had no idea.

“That’s insane! Even if Leopold was in the wrong, that’s far too much compensation! I’ve worked my tail off managing Starlight Media for years, and Grandpa only gave me ten percent. What right does that girl have, waltzing in here like she owns the place? She’s about to marry Haskell Palmer! Giving her those shares is like handing them over to an outsider!” He was seething. “The old man has lost his mind!”

Leopold’s trapped consciousness, however, was filled with revulsion.

She’s such a convincing liar! One minute she’s insulting me, the next she’s painting this perfect picture for their brother.

Honora ended her monologue with a sob. “If I had just married Haskell, Mom and Dad wouldn't have brought Larissa back as a substitute, and maybe none of this would have happened to Leopold.”

Finley pulled her into a comforting embrace. “Honora, don’t think like that. It wasn’t your decision. We all agreed to it. Don’t blame yourself.”
