Larissa's Game of Thrones (Larissa) novel Chapter 216

Leopold wanted to scream, “Finley, don’t fall for her act!”

But he couldn’t.

After comforting Honora for a while, Finley let her go. “I should head back now. Thank you for looking after him.”

Honora wiped a tear from her eye and nodded. “Of course. I’ll take good care of him.”

Finley, his suspicions seemingly allayed, turned to leave. But as he did, a glint of red on Leopold’s arm caught his eye.

He stopped and turned back, frowning as he moved closer to the bed to get a better look.

Honora immediately stood up and tucked Leopold’s arm back under the covers. “It’s getting chilly,” she said, feigning concern. “Can’t let him get cold.”

As Finley watched, puzzled, she waved a hand in the air as if shooing something away. “The mosquitoes in here are terrible. I got a few bites last night myself.”

Glancing at her arm, Finley did see a few small red marks. His doubts subsided. “If there are mosquitoes, bring some repellent tomorrow.”

“I will,” Honora nodded.

Finley said no more and left the room.

Honora walked him to the door and watched until he was safely in the elevator and out of sight. Only then did she close the door, letting out a long, shaky breath.

That was too close. He had almost discovered what she was doing.

She returned to her seat, quickly retrieved the syringe from her bag, and, without another moment’s hesitation, plunged it back into the red dot on Leopold’s arm. She pushed the plunger all the way down, then swiftly retracted the needle and concealed it back inside the lipstick tube.

Finally, he pulled out his own phone and dialed his assistant.

“How is the thief?”

“He’s fine, Mr. Judson. The antivenom worked. He’s being kept for observation, but he’ll make a full recovery.”

“Good,” Finley said. “Tomorrow, I want you to ask him if he’s willing to take another job. This one is much simpler, with no risk. The pay will be the same as last time.”

“Of course. What does he need to steal?”

Finley hesitated for a long moment before finally saying, “A woman’s purse.”
