Larissa's Game of Thrones (Larissa) novel Chapter 256

“Very well,” Zoltan said, instructing a servant to show them the way. He then addressed his other children and grandchildren. “If you have nothing else to do, go with the Judsons and help greet the guests.”

“Yes, Grandpa!” Avril was the first to rise. She eagerly ran over to Larissa. “Larissa, is there anything I can do to help?”

She had made up her mind. She was on Team Larissa now.

Larissa smiled warmly at Avril’s friendly gesture. “The biggest help you can be is not causing trouble like Garrick.”

Avril thumped her chest. “You can count on me! I will not cause any trouble for you or Haskell!”

Her mother, Harriett, watched without interfering, confident in her daughter’s judgment.

Faith and Solomon looked at Avril with disdain. A Palmer sucking up to a Judson was a disgrace to their family name.

“Solomon, Faith, let’s go,” said their father, Tobias. “Let’s do as your grandfather said and see if we can be of any assistance at the reception.”

“Yes, Dad.”

As they passed Garrick and Fraser, Solomon smirked. “Didn’t I tell you? The game isn’t over yet.”

Faith whispered mockingly to Garrick, “It was fun watching you shoot yourself in the foot. You should know better than to be clever when you’re that stupid.”

And infuriatingly, it was true.

Ever since Zoltan had given him a small subsidiary company, Haskell had turned it into a powerhouse, overcoming every obstacle and threat thrown his way. Until now. Until he had been crippled trying to save Valeria, a girl with no blood relation to him.

But was it really an accident?

No, Solomon knew. Haskell had been betrayed by those closest to him.

Abandoned by his family, with only Zoltan’s favor to his name, Haskell was nothing but a pathetic stray. Dealing with him now would be child’s play.
