Larissa's Game of Thrones (Larissa) novel Chapter 527

The slam of the door jogged the neighbor’s memory.

Leopold! That was Leopold!

Oh my god, she was seeing a celebrity in real life! And a pretty famous one at that! He was even more handsome in person. She’d heard some negative rumors about him online, but seeing him now, she decided none of that mattered. How could someone that good-looking be a bad person?

She had to wait by her door. When he came out, she was going to get his autograph and a photo.

Inside, Leopold walked over to the coffee table and stared at the mountain of empty beer bottles. “Finley, what the hell is wrong with you?” he demanded, his voice sharp with disapproval. He had always respected his older brother and had never spoken to him like this before. But he couldn’t stand to see him in such a state.

Finley collapsed onto the sofa, his voice weak and listless. “Drowning my sorrows. What else?”

“Is this because of Larissa?” Leopold asked.

“Who else would it be?” Finley let out a bitter laugh. “I don’t think I can hold on much longer. The poison she gave me is torture. It’s clear she really wants me dead.”

Leopold’s brow furrowed. “So what did you do this time?”

Finley just shook his head. “It doesn’t matter. What’s done is done. Telling you won’t change anything.”

“Don’t give up, Finley,” Leopold urged. “There has to be another way.”

“It’s not you who’s poisoned,” Finley shot back with a self-mocking sneer. “It’s not you who’s being tormented every single night. It’s easy for you to stand there and say there’s another way.”

His words left Leopold speechless.

Finley wasn’t finished. “None of this would have happened if you hadn’t come to me that day, demanding I get revenge for Honora.”

Leopold had a meeting at Gale Entertainment that afternoon and couldn’t leave Finley alone. He called their mother, Vivica.

“Mom, you need to get over to Finley’s place.”

“What’s wrong with Finley?”

“He’s not in a good state. I’m worried he might do something drastic.”

“I’m on my way.”

Catching Leopold’s worried glance, Finley laughed bitterly. “I’m supposed to be the older brother, the calm and responsible one. And look at me now, making my little brother worry.”

Leopold sighed and put his phone down. “Don’t say that, Finley. We’re brothers. We’re supposed to look out for each other. I was the one who was reckless. If I hadn’t tampered with Larissa’s car to get back at her for Honora, maybe she wouldn’t be so ruthless with us now. The reason she won’t give you the antidote… it’s partly my fault.”
