Larissa's Game of Thrones (Larissa) novel Chapter 528

“Let’s not talk about that anymore,” Leopold said, changing the subject. “I know you haven’t been sleeping. Try to get some rest during the day.”

Finley didn’t respond, just slowly closed his eyes.

Leopold ordered some food delivery on his phone and began cleaning up the coffee table. His mother, Vivica, arrived just as the food was delivered.

“Leopold, what’s going on with Finley?” Vivica asked, her voice tight with worry as she looked at her eldest son asleep on the sofa.

Leopold didn’t want to fuel his mother’s hatred for Larissa. “It’s nothing. Just keep an eye on him.”

“This isn’t nothing!” she insisted. “Ever since Finley took over Starlight Media, he’s never drunk himself into a stupor like this.”

She had smelled the alcohol the moment she walked in.

“You don’t have to tell me, I know it’s the poison,” Vivica said, her voice breaking with pain. “Your sister… she’s truly heartless! It’s been so long since Honora’s true colors were revealed, and she still won’t cure Finley! How long is she going to hold this grudge? Does she really want to drive him to his death?”

This was exactly what Leopold had wanted to avoid. “Enough, Mom,” he cut in, his patience wearing thin. “Stop blaming Larissa. We were the ones in the wrong.”

“We were wrong, but does she have to hold it against us forever?” Vivica cried, tears streaming down her face as she looked at Finley.

“Mom, if you don’t want to upset Finley, don’t say any of this when he wakes up,” Leopold warned. “I ordered some food for you. I have to go.”

He had no appetite left and headed for the door.

At the entrance, the neighbor next door heard the door open and immediately opened her own. “Leopold?” she called out nervously.

Leopold glanced at her, pulled his hat down and his mask up, and muttered, “You have the wrong person,” before striding toward the elevator without a second look.

From Finley’s apartment, he drove directly to Gale Entertainment.

Leopold strode forward and squeezed into the elevator just as the doors were closing on Livia. She shot him a sideways glance but said nothing.

The elevator stopped on the twelfth floor, and Leopold stepped out first.

Unable to resist a final jab, Livia called after him, “Stray dog.”

Leopold stopped dead in his tracks. That was it. He spun around. “What did you just say?”

Livia stepped out of the elevator.

“What are you going to do about it? Was I wrong? You’re nothing but a dog kicked out of his own family by his little sister!” She enunciated the last words slowly, driving the insult home.

Leopold’s hands clenched into fists again as he fought to control his anger. “Just because you’re engaged to Lucius doesn’t give you the right to look down on everyone.”
