Larissa's Game of Thrones (Larissa) novel Chapter 58

A performance, here and now? What did she think she was, a show pony?

Honora took a deep breath and forced a polite smile. “If you’d like to see me perform at the welcome party on Saturday night, I would be happy to. Consider it my gift to you.”

Larissa chuckled. “A performance for me? Or an attempt to prove to everyone else that you’re better than me?”

Honora smiled, a cunning glint in her eye. “If that’s how you want to see it, there’s nothing I can do.”

Leopold couldn’t resist sneering. “She’s just afraid you’ll steal her spotlight at her own party.”

Larissa shrugged nonchalantly. “You’re overthinking it. At my welcome party, no one can steal my spotlight.”

“Let’s hope you don’t embarrass the Judson family,” Leopold scoffed. “Forget about stealing the spotlight.”

A smirk played on Larissa’s lips, her eyes shining with confidence. “We’ll see, won’t we? We’ll see just how blind you all are.”

Leaning on Jett’s arm, Kiernan entered the room. His steps were slow, but his eyes were as sharp as ever. He surveyed the room and asked, “What are you all talking about?”

“Grandpa!” Leopold immediately tattled. “Honora offered to perform at the party as a gift for Larissa, but she’s being so ungrateful.”

“Larissa,” Kiernan began, “the Palmer family is the most prominent family in Regal City. This alliance is of great importance to us. Although Haskell is now crippled, that doesn’t diminish the Palmer family’s status or influence. This marriage is the envy of countless other families. However, after your welcome party, everyone will know that you are the true heiress of the Judson family. Under these circumstances, it would be inappropriate for Honora to marry Haskell.”

Larissa nodded slightly. “I understand.”

Her gaze was clear and steady, as if she was already prepared for what was to come.

“So,” Kiernan continued, “are you willing to marry Haskell?”
