Larissa's Game of Thrones (Larissa) novel Chapter 596

As Vivica came to, she saw her son standing over her.

“Leopold,” she groaned, rubbing her neck. “That sister of yours is a monster! She stabbed me with one of her needles again!”

“That’s enough, Mom!” Leopold snapped, his patience gone. “Finley goes missing, and you immediately come here to blame Larissa? Do you really think she had something to do with it?”

“Well, didn’t she?” Vivica retorted, her voice filled with self-pity. “You said you didn’t know where he was. Who else was I supposed to ask?”

“He went to Spire Village!” Leopold burst out. “He asked me not to tell you and Dad because he knew you wouldn’t approve! Now you know, so let’s go. And stop bothering Larissa!”

Without offering her a hand, he turned and stormed out.

Vivica, now knowing her son’s whereabouts, scrambled to her feet and followed him.

“Why would Finley go to that godforsaken place?” she fretted as they got into the car. “Is he all alone? What if something happens to him?”

Leopold ignored her, but she continued to ramble. “Honestly, I am your mother! If I didn’t care, I wouldn’t say anything! I’m just worried about him. He’s never been anywhere like that. If he gets into trouble, there will be no one there to help him!”

Fed up, Leopold put in his wireless earbuds and turned the music up until it drowned her out. After dropping her off, he sent a text to Finley.

[Mom came to Starlight Media and made a scene. She knows you’re in Spire Village.]

...

In the quiet, remote village, Finley stood before a simple mud-brick hut. His phone buzzed, and he read the text from Leopold, his expression darkening.

With that, he shouldered his hoe and walked away.

Word spread quickly, and soon other villagers began to eye Finley with suspicion.

“So that’s Larissa’s brother? The one who refused to come get her?”

“What a joke. As if our Larissa was desperate to be a part of their family.”

“What’s he doing here now? Trying to get on our good side so we’ll put in a good word for him?”

“He can dream on!”
