Larissa's Game of Thrones (Larissa) novel Chapter 604

“I’m a grown man! Do I need you to worry about me?” Finley shot back. “Stop being so melodramatic! And what were you thinking, causing a scene at Starlight Media? Don’t you understand how much Larissa hates us right now? Why can’t you just get it through your head and stop making things worse? Honestly, I can’t even stand the sight of you right now!”

“You… you…” Vivica clutched her chest, struggling to breathe.

“That’s enough,” an officer interjected. “Take your family drama somewhere else.”

“I’ll be back for Larissa’s birthday party,” Finley said, his voice flat. “Until then, leave me alone.”

With that, he turned and followed the officer toward the holding cells.

Vivica watched him go, his back rigid and unforgiving. She felt as if her heart had been trampled. From the day he was born, Finley had been her pride and joy. She may have spoiled Leopold, but she and her husband had pinned all their hopes on Finley.

And now look at him. He had lost all his ambition, his drive. He didn’t even have a shred of respect left for his own mother.

As the realization settled, her resentment for Larissa deepened into a burning hatred.

Seething, Vivica pulled out her phone, found the number she had acquired for Larissa, and composed a long, scathing text message, blaming her daughter for all her misery.

After hitting send, Vivica decided against returning to Regal City that night. She found a motel in town and checked in.

She had promised Paxton she would bring Finley back, and returning empty-handed would only lead to his disappointment in both her and their son.

Larissa blocked the number without a second thought.

What a way to start the day!

At the Palmer Group headquarters, Haskell had just finished a morning meeting and returned to his office. The screen of his phone, lying on the desk, lit up. He glanced down and saw the sender was from Regal City’s top DNA testing facility. He snatched up the phone.

It was the test report.
