Larissa's Game of Thrones (Larissa) novel Chapter 705

“Yes, yes! Thank you, Miss!” The voice on the other end was practically giddy. Two million was already a windfall; four million was beyond his wildest dreams.

“When you get the drug, just give it to my mother,” Larissa instructed.

“Understood.”

Hanging up, Larissa let out a cold laugh. Poisoning her guests? Honora must be truly desperate. This wasn’t like the welcome banquet, which was filled with a who’s who of Regal City’s elite. Tonight’s party was for close friends and family. Even if something went wrong with the food, they would never blame her. Besides, with Zendar and his colleagues present, their medical expertise would surely detect anything amiss in the dishes.

What an idiot!

She decided to use this opportunity to let Honora’s plan backfire on her once again.

She dialed her mother’s number. A moment later, a warm, gentle voice answered. “Larissa, what is it?”

“Mom, the head of the kitchen staff will be giving you something later. It’s important. Please hold onto it for me.”

“Of course, dear.”

After ending the call, a flicker of mockery appeared in Larissa’s eyes. Once she had the drug, she would have her venomous pets secretly administer it to Lucius and his flock of lackeys. She was curious to see what it really did. Was it truly just something to cause an upset stomach?

“I always wanted a daughter,” Sapphira said, her head bowed as she focused on spreading the frosting. “From the moment Larissa called me ‘Mom,’ I decided I would give her the absolute best of everything I could, never settling for less.”

“I have a daughter too, so I understand the feeling,” Kimberly said. “But I could never do something like this. I’ve dedicated most of my life to my work. If I could do it all over again, I’d still choose the same path, but my daughter would still suffer for it.”

Sapphira paused and looked up at the renowned Dr. Kimberly Moore, who had led her team to achieve medical miracles. “Does your daughter support your career?”

“She does. Especially after I won the award and was in the news. She called to tell me how proud she was and apologized for not being able to follow in my footsteps.” Kimberly gave a wry smile. “But I never wanted her to. I just want her to be happy and live a simple, peaceful life.”

“Love is a two-way street, and so is family,” Sapphira said gently. “Your daughter supports you, and you don’t force your expectations on her. That’s a wonderful thing.”
