Larissa's Game of Thrones (Larissa) novel Chapter 725

Kiernan sighed under his breath and shook his head. “No objections.”

What right did he have to object? If it weren’t for his granddaughter Larissa, the Judsons wouldn’t even be sharing a table with the Palmers.

Finley and Leopold saw the commotion involving their father, but not wanting to spoil their sister’s party, they chose to remain silent rather than intervene.

Swallowing his pride, Paxton struggled to his feet, retrieved his chair, and shuffled back to his seat. Before sitting, he shot a furtive glance at Haskell, only relaxing when he saw no further action was being taken.

Now, only Finley and Leopold were left to give their gifts.

Finley went first. “Happy birthday, Larissa. I picked this out especially for you. I’m so happy you invited me tonight.”

A playful, mocking smile touched Larissa’s lips. “Is this gift more valuable than the one you gave Honora?”

Finley’s face went pale. After a long, uncomfortable pause, he stammered, “Larissa, my financial situation isn’t what it used to be. I promise I’ll make it up to you, double, every year from now on.”

Defeated, Finley and Leopold returned to their seats, looking as if their souls had been ripped from their bodies.

Paxton watched his two useless sons, filled with a burning frustration. Even now, they were still begging for forgiveness.

Idiots!

Once Haskell and the others were back at their table, Larissa handed the latest gifts to her mother. She then addressed the familiar faces before her. “Thank you all for coming to my twenty-second birthday party tonight. This is my first birthday since returning to the Judson family, and my parents took it very seriously, planning for over a month. As you can see, not just this villa, but the entire estate has been beautifully decorated. Even this evening gown was designed by my mother herself. It’s one of a kind. In fact, my mom has decided to pursue her passion for fashion design again and is opening her own studio. If any of you need something designed in the future, you know who to call!”
