Larissa's Game of Thrones (Larissa) novel Chapter 850

He had paid off the owner of a key supplier, Haven Health, to sabotage Judson Pharmaceuticals from the inside. The original plan had been to tarnish their reputation just enough to force a buyout, allowing him to absorb their production lines. Now, he was unleashing the full extent of that plan. This time, he would see how Larissa managed to navigate a public relations crisis of this magnitude.

“This is your last chance,” Jedidiah warned. “If you fail again, don’t expect me to protect the Lincoln family any longer.”

“I understand,” Lucius said grimly.

He left the villa and slumped into his car, his face a thunderous mask. His most trusted assistant, Aidric, was still in the hospital, and his butler was in police custody. He was surrounded by incompetence.

“Any word on Fergus?” he barked at the driver, a junior aide who normally reported to Aidric.

The young man flinched, his voice trembling. “No, sir… Nothing yet.”

“Useless,” Lucius muttered.

The aide trembled but said nothing.

“Drive!” Lucius roared, his head feeling like it was about to split open.

“Y-yes, sir.” The aide slammed his foot on the accelerator, lurching the car forward so violently that Lucius was thrown against the back of the front seat. He gritted his teeth, his face darkening further, but he didn’t lash out again. Every ounce of his energy was now focused on a single target: Larissa.

...

After Lucius departed, Jedidiah’s underling stepped forward, his expression worried. “Boss, this is getting dangerous. If Larissa keeps digging, she could expose everything and trace it back to you. Should we… prepare a contingency?”

“It will be done, Boss.”

Jedidiah stared out the window. The trouble Lucius was stirring up for Larissa was the perfect smokescreen. It would keep her occupied while he finalized his true plan: the complete annihilation of Spire Village.

...

The next morning, Larissa was jolted awake on the office sofa by a frantic knock at the door.

“Ms. Judson, we found it!” Neville’s assistant burst in, clutching a report. “After working all night, the engineering team figured it out! They found the cause of the malfunction!”
