“We’re talking about the female, Hazel,” Barric adds bluntly.

“Now isn’t a good time,” I say finally.

My wolf snorts. Idiot.

“Liam, look at me,” Ronan orders, his Alpha voice ringing between the words.

I face my Alpha.

“I will kill Aldren and dismantle the assembly. Don’t let their twisted actions hold you back If you choose to mate her, it should be because of a choice you

make. Nothing else.”

I know he’s telling me to take the risk, the small window of happiness the gods have given me.
