His expression hardens. “You need to calm down.”
:.
“Oh, that rich. I’m the irrational one when your head is playing games with my cousin. A female, who by the way a
too fucking good for you.”
“I won’t argue with that. She is too good for me, but she is a grown female who can make her own choices.”
I don’t like that answer.
Not one bit.
“And what about you? Was your passing interest really worth our friendship? Did you really not have enough respect
for me to consider leaving her be?”
“I did leave her alone! I left her alone for three damn years because I knew what you thought it was. But you know
what? I’m not sorry I did it,” Sebastian states, holding his ground.
My wolf growls.
“Not-” the words drowned under the growing storm of my rage, “Well, I hope it was worth it, because I’m going to
break every bone in your body.”
Sebastian folds his arms. “You’re going to have to if you think I’m leaving my female alone.”
Blood pounds in my ears, I charge.
He ducks my first blow. Slipping to the right only to meet two quick body shots. I’m clipped on the jaw as he starts
to fight back, and we battle for dominance in the fight, kicking, punching, and elbowing with dirty precision. Noise
fills the hallway, and I can sense my band arriving, probably spurred on by the depth of my fury.
“What the hell is going on?” Quinnie shouts from the open door.
Sebastian tackles me to the ground. We sprawl.
“I let you get your hits in, now it’s time to hear me out,” Sebastian shouts.

Chapter 170
“There’s nothing you could say that would make me okay with you using my cousin,” I grit out, elbowing him sn
hard he drops to the floor.
I mount him, hit him once, twice.
“Stop them,” Quinnie shouts to someone behind me.
“You have to let them work it out,” Ronan’s voice says.
Sebastian bucks me off, switching positions and taking control of my back. His arm locks around me in a secure
headlock.

“Kade, stop. It’s not what you think! It’s my fault, I’m the one who instigated it.”
“Don’t take the blame for this asshole, Quinley,” I grit out.
Sebastian holds tighter, putting pressure on my windpipe.
“You know I find it insulting that you think Quin doesn’t know her own mind. What do you think I manipulated her
into sleeping with me?”
Hearing the words out loud cuts through some of my anger. “Of course not. But I know you. You aren’t in it to build
something real. This is just another game to you.”
“No, it’s not.” I stop struggling, and his grip remains loose around me. “I won’t lie to you. I don’t know what’s
happening. What this is. But it’s something important. And I’m not letting her go. I couldn’t if I wanted to.”
“So what the hell is that supposed to do to me?” I say.
“My wolf refuses.”
The words cut through me like a knife. “So you’re dating.”
Sebastian looks almost annoyed by his own admission. “We haven’t exactly spoken about anything. And you’re not
the one who’s gonna be the first to hear my thoughts.” He lets out an annoyed huff before he shoves off of me.
I turn to see Quinnie standing between us, looking pissed off.
“I don’t really care what the hell is happening right now, but both of you need to stop acting like juveniles and go to
your separate corners.”

Chapter 170
“Quin-”

She holds up her hand to cut me off. “No, Kade, I don’t want to hear it right now.” She looks me over before looking
at Sebastian. “Go to a damn healer, you both look a mess.”
Hands come down on my shoulder, and Barric guides me away.
“That was… something,” he says carefully.
“It was bound to happen,” Ronan says. “At least now the two of you can move on and figure out how to co–exist.”
I look at him appalled. “Yeah, well, I can’t say I feel any better about it.”
“Of course you don’t. Sebastian got you pretty good,” Barric jokes.
I bear a half–hearted fang.
The tension doesn’t disappear completely. But as I’m being healed by a grumpy Kiara, some of the knots in my back
loosen, and the air around us changes.
“You think he’s serious about her,” I say to no one in particular.
“Terrifyingly serious,” Ronan confirms.
I rub the back of my neck. “How long do you think it will take for Quinnie to forgive me?”
“Not long. She isn’t one to hold a grudge,” Barric says.
Thank the Gods she got that from moms side of the family.
The tension eases slightly.
