Let Them Kneel (kaelani and Julian) novel Chapter 232

Chapter 232

The violet blaze that danced through her fur flared slightly at the contact.

It did not bum.

It did not sear.

Instead, the light folded into him.

Threads of violet slipped seamlessly into the black of his coat, blending rather than clashing. The energy softened against him, wrapping around him like warmth instead of fire.

Julian’s wolf rumbled low in his chest, not in painbut approval.

Mate could never hurt us,his wolf said through the bond, a satisfied edge in his tone.

Kaelani stilled for a moment, relief washing through her as she felt the truth of it.

Her fire was not destruction.

Not here.

Not with him.

It was simply theirs.

The wind lifted around them, tugging at her fur as the hills stretched wide and waiting.

Kaelani lowered her body slightly, muscles coiling beneath glowing white and violet.

Then she ran.

Julian’s wolf huffed a sound of excitement before launching after her.

They tore across the hillside in long, powerful strides, silvertipped grass bending and snapping beneath their paws as wind rushed past them in cool, exhilarated currents. The ground felt alive beneath her, humming faintly with Seelie magic as it responded to their presence.

They leapt the first river bend effortlessly, Kaelani’s violet light flaring as she soared over the water. For a brief second, her reflection shimmered belowa wolf outlined in living flamethen Julian followed in a smooth arc of muscle and shadow.

When Kaelani landed, the energy threaded through her fur intensified.

It streamed behind her in brilliant violet ribbons, streaking through the air like comet trails. Each stride left a faint shimmer in her wake, the glow catching the sunlight and scattering it into prismed flashes across the hills.

Julian’s wolf glanced over midrun, golden eyes narrowing slightly as he took in the sight of her.

She was not merely running.

M

She was blazing.

They climbed higher, the terrain growing steeper, rocky outcroppings forcing them to spring from ledge to ledge until the river narrowed below and the Seelie court spread wide in luminous terraces. Farther in

the distance, the darker spires of the Unseelie court rose from the earth like a crown carved from

shadow

At the top of the cliff, they slowed.

Kaelani reached the edge first and turned, watching as Julian bounded up the final incline. He stopped beside her, chest rising and falling as the wind tugged at his fur.

Below them, the realm stretched in full daylight splendor. The Seelie lands lay luminous and open along the riverbanks, sunlight spilling unrestrained across gardens and terraces. Farther downriver, the Unseelie court rose beneath a thicker canopy, ancient trees arching overhead, their branches weaving shade that dappled darker stone and sharpened the lines of its architecture.

Gradually, as her breathing slowed, the violet fire threading through her coat began to soften.

The glow receded like embers cooling.

Where brilliant flame had once danced, white fur emergedclean and luminouswith delicate violet tips feathering along her shoulders, back, and tail.

She stood there, no longer blazing

Simply radiant

Julian did not look away.

Neither did his wolf

He stepped closer and pressed his nose lightly along her neck before pulling back just enough to study her fully. Admiration moved openly through the bond, warm and unguarded.

You’re beautiful,he said through their mindlink.
