Stella had always been looking for a way to escape.
Whether she was with Evan or trapped in Eirden, she had never stopped planning how to leave.
And now she was finally gone.
For her, this was complete freedom.
She had escaped every person who had brought her nothing but pain.
Why would she ever reveal herself so easily?
Finding Stella now would be nearly impossible.
“What are you planning to do?” Aaron asked when Felix remained silent.
“Keep looking.”
“If she’s deliberately hiding, you may never find her.”
Stella had disappeared into the shadows while the rest of them remained exposed.
She could watch their every move without being seen, just as she had when Evan hid her away before.
As long as Stella refused to come out, finding her would be almost impossible.
“I’m still going to look.”
There was a trace of sorrow in Felix’s voice.
Aaron opened his mouth.
“You…”
Then he found himself at a loss for words.
Felix and Aaron had clashed repeatedly over Stella lately.
And through those disagreements, Aaron had seen how much Felix truly cared about her.
Now that she had disappeared, Felix was probably the most desperate person of all.
“Then keep looking,” Aaron said at last.
He paused.
“Don’t worry about anything in Eirden. I’ll handle it.”
Felix was still the man Aaron had chosen for his sister.
Now that Stella was missing, Aaron could hardly tell him to stop searching.
He would keep matters under control in Eirden while Felix looked for her.
Not once did Aaron suspect that Felix was lying to him.
…
In Sima Mountain, Felix ended the call.
Another call came through almost immediately.
And now she wanted to run again?
Stella rolled her eyes at him.
“I need to use the bathroom.”
Felix fell silent.
“Do I look like I’m capable of running anywhere right now?”
“I’m sorry.”
He had panicked and assumed she was trying to escape again.
After all, she did not want to remain with him.
If she had not been injured, she probably would have found a way to leave.
“What are you doing?”
The moment Felix lifted her into his arms, Stella instinctively struggled.
He looked down at her.
“Can you walk right now?”
“That doesn’t mean you need to carry me. Find me a female aide.”
Was he serious?
