Since Jennifer was there, the staff had all crowded into the kitchen to give them privacy.
When Jennifer asked that, Stella said, “As far as Evan and Aaron are concerned, I’m completely dead.”
“A way to disappear?”
The second Stella said she was only “dead” to Evan and Aaron, Jennifer immediately understood.
Stella nodded. “Yeah.”
Jennifer went quiet.
So this was how Stella had escaped.
“Then why is Felix still with you? Don’t tell me you…” Jennifer trailed off before finishing the thought.
As far as she was concerned, if Stella had gone this far to disappear, shouldn’t she have cut herself free from everyone completely?
And Felix...
Jennifer knew Stella no longer had those kinds of feelings for him.
Stella said, “He’s the one who arranged all of this.”
Jennifer froze.
So that was it.
Felix had been the one to stage Stella’s disappearance.
“That makes things complicated.”
Felix.
If he had been the one behind all of this, then Stella was effectively trapped with him now.
If she tried to run from him and he went looking for her, he could expose the fact that she was still alive all over again.
Stella gave a bitter smile.
“Exactly. That’s the problem.”
“He really refuses to give up on you,” Jennifer muttered. “After everything he did to you, he still thinks he has a chance?”
She genuinely didn’t know what to say about Felix anymore.
Back in Eirden, he and Aaron had treated Stella terribly.
And now he still had the nerve to want her?
Felix clearly knew Stella wanted to disappear from Evan and Aaron.
He probably also knew she wanted to disappear from him too.
And he had probably guessed exactly how she planned to do it.
Which made what he had done even more calculating.
