But beauty like that was one thing in a photograph.
Actually living in it was another.
It snowed constantly here, and getting around was inconvenient.
Even so, Stella still liked the place.
“I heard that once spring comes and the snow melts, there are all kinds of berries growing in the mountains. Supposedly they’re really good.”
Felix said nothing.
That didn’t sound particularly appealing to him.
But if she liked it, that was enough.
...
The trip outside seemed to have worn Stella out.
Not long after they got back, she fell asleep.
Her health still wasn’t great to begin with.
Felix left her room and went downstairs.
Jack was already waiting for him.
The moment Felix appeared, Jack stepped forward respectfully.
“Sir, about Jennifer...”
“Shh.”
Felix cut him off before he could finish.
Jack fell silent.
Stella’s attitude in the car had been extremely firm, especially when it came to the demand she had made.
At this point, getting rid of Jennifer really wasn’t an option anymore.
No matter how anything happened to Jennifer, Stella would blame them.
That made the situation much harder to handle.
Felix walked over to the couch and sat down.
He poured himself a glass of wine, his expression unreadable.
There was even a trace of irritation in his eyes.
“This really has become a problem.”
Jack said nothing.
It absolutely had.
Stella was clearly demanding that they keep Jennifer safe now.
“Leon is still looking for her?”
“Yes.”
Jack nodded.
