Let’s Divorce Mrs. Wright Is Done Playing Nice novel Chapter 114

Chapter 114

And what was that about her living at the mercy of her in-laws?

Putting aside the fact that she had moved out of the main residence right after marrying Evan…

Just look at what she had done these past few days.

With a temper like hers, did she look like someone who watched others’ moods to survive?

She had practically turned the entire Evans family upside down.

Alex knew all of this perfectly well.

But there was nothing he could say.

He swallowed his frustration and forced his tone back under control.

“Miss Rowan, our madam hopes this can be resolved amicably.

“Whatever you want, just name it. She’ll meet all your conditions.”

Stella let out a soft laugh. “Now she wants to play nice?”

Alex fell silent.

Stella’s eyes turned cold. “Why doesn’t she bring the same energy she used when she tried to push her daughter into stealing my husband and use it against me?”

Alex’s expression darkened even further.

Ever since Steven passed away, Ruby had been pushing for her daughter to get together with Evan.

After all, they had benefited a great deal from the Wright family over the years.

Ruby had no intention of letting that stream of advantages dry up.

But hearing it laid out so bluntly by Stella…

It sounded harsh.

ľ

“Miss Rowan,” Alex said, his tone tightening, “does this mean you’re unwilling to resolve things peacefully?”

Stella’s voice turned ice-cold. “She comes after me whenever she feels like it, and now she wants to ‘resolve things peacefully’?”

“In her dreams.”

The last two words landed like a blade.

Alex’s face darkened.

“In that case, there’s nothing more to discuss.”

A man used to dealing with powerful figures, Alex had finally reached his limit.

Jestood up, smoothed out the wrinkles in his suit, and shot Stella a warning look before turning to leave.

The door slammed shut behind him.

Marianne hurried over. “Ma’am, you know what Mrs. Bailey is capable of. Acting like this will only make things worse.”

Her voice was filled with worry.

Stella already had little to rely on. Now she was at odds with the entire Evans family, and if Ruby set her sights on her too…

Marianne was afraid she would not be able to handle it.

Stella glanced at her. “Marianne.”

“Yes, ma’am.”

“Go buy some apples”

“Apples? We have some at home.”

“The one at home is rotten.”

Stella spoke calmly, as if she really were just talking about apples.

Marianne did not understand, but she nodded anyway. “Alright, I’ll go right now.”

“Go ahead.”

Marianne nodded, took off her apron, and left.

Once she was gone, Stella was alone in the house.

She glanced outside.

Ruby must already be at the hospital, since Evan had not left any bodyguards behind.

Now, the entire Inkwood House was empty except for her.

Stella took out her phone and called Gray.

He picked up quickly. “Miss.”

“Are you clear?”

“I’m out. Just handling the aftermath.”

Stella raised a brow. “What happened?”

“There was someone…”

Someone what?

He did not finish the sentence.

But Stella understood.
